So I’ll start with what I’ve got so hopefully I can get some guidance and help I can’t wait to start reading on my own post as I have others on here and the knowledge is amazing
It’s a 3x3 tent
Spider farmer sf-1000 new viparspectra p2000 going in tomorrow
Fox farms happy frog soil
ILGM nutrients
Today the 12th is going into the start of the second month
I have going Bruce banner auto, gorilla glue auto, Girl Scout cookies extreme auto, and gold leaf photo all from ilgm… Now my question is I’ve had them all on a 24 hour light cycle but I don’t want to stress them to much would it be ok to start putting them on 4hours off without stunting the growth or hurting them any help or advice of any kind is always useful so please fire away this is the start to my new journal
You can switch to 20/4 as you suggest. Other options can include going to 18/6 (very common) or 12/12 (to initiate flowering.)
The change in light cycle won’t affect the plant and you can change it all at once and at any time. The worst you might see is drooping for a couple of hours.
Even autos benefit from sleep. Autos also have a target DLI. This is what you should be looking at. If you hit that dli in 12 hours. That means your plants ignored that light for 12 hours and you threw away every watt used.
Daily light intake. Hours of light only mean anything if you know how much light you’re giving per hour.
You look like you have the hard part figured out , just learn to water management your soil so it’s not over saturated and not wet enough and you on your way to the final end day .
@Littlegrow if you vegging , 6/2 is a much better schedule for string healthy fast growing plants to be honest even if it’s an auto ? Once they start to bloom out automatically I would switch to 18/6 , but photo periods I run on 6/2 after discovering the health of your seedlings and how fast and string they grow on a short s heduke verses 18hours of light when in fact they only used 5.5 hours of those 18 hours that’s being emitted to the canopy ! Good information to read also but if you try it , you will never veg out on 18/6 ever again .
@Littlegrow I’m a firm believer now that 6/2 is a much better veg schedule than 18/6 , your plants grow so much faster and healthier from my experience!
@grizZz , that’s part of my watering regiment as well. I’m only feeding a full liter bottle of nutrient to a 3 gallon potted plant ? Maybe 2 liters of plain water from the top for in between for a mild flushing to keep the salts from building up .
Since I’m in flowering , they start drinking more water anyways , plus my soil has great water retention so I try to keep it just damp not saturated
