First grow looking for support

Hello all.

Doing my first grow. What went from let me get a light and plant and see what happens, moved on to massive amounts of research, forums and questions. So im here just to get a little motiviational support and make sure Im on the right track with what Im doing.

Im sorry if a bunch of these questions have been answered here before. I try to research everything as best as i can but sometimes theres just too much info coming and I get lost. lol.

I recieved a clone about a week ago. Place under a LED light at 30". room temp is avg 74 (ranges up to 77 and then down to 67 at night) RH ranges from 40-60. Started LST immediately as I felt it was time. On that respect I felt the clone I got wasnt quite what it should be. All the pictures I see have the plants are much shorter and bushier. This was tall and lankier, I suspect from how it was grown before I got it. A couple of the lower fan leaves were a bit yellowed but that hasnt moved on to the rest of the plant.

I watered a few days after i got it and just added nutes for the first time yesterday. She seemed to react well. Im using FF trio at 1/2 strength to start. Plus i plan on adding recharge, molasses and calmag on the off nute waterings. PPH came out at 700 for the first runoff after feeding. Tried to check PH as best I could but that little strip is tough to read. I think its where it needs to be.

I believe Im in week 3 of growth but am asking the cloner to get a more definite answer. Few questions I have are:

Im using FF trio but only those 3 for nutes. The feed schedule lists up to 10 other bottles. Do I need to adjust the amount Im feeding to make up the PPM that the other bottles give? (i think I know the answer but I just need to double check)

Some of my brand new growth is coming out lighter green as opposed to more established leaves. Is this normal or could i possibly have my lights too low causing leaf burn?

And as far as light distance… I have no clue. The person I got the clone from said to put it right next to the plants. The manufacturer specs say 30-38" during veg. Other people say 18-24" Its has to be based on the light correct? Different LED lights are built differently i assume. So what works for one light might not work for the next. I started at 30 but moved up to 34. Didn’t seem to make a difference. Today I moved it down to 24" just to see how it goes. I should def notice if the plants don’t like that correct?

I think Im on the right track but with no one to ask it becomes a guessing game to me. Hoping to get some encouragement is all. Thanks for your time.

Are u watering often? Looks overwatered …hard to see in putples if its dry or wet but the droop looks water logged

I did overwater the first day. i had the wrong amount listed. Those are the more purpleish pictures when I first got it and did the LST. The other pic is from last night.
Before I watered I made sure the pot was light and dry an inch down in the pot (same way i water my houseplants) when I watered it yesterday. Fed it 2 Liters and had about 10% runoff. here is a picture of the current plant a little closer up from right now.

Welcome to the community. What soil are you using? Fox farm ocean is thought to be hot, so you could go longer without nutes. happy growing :bat:

U need to watch ur bucket. Algae can for in buckets that are not black inside. Becareful @virgo

Out of likes I run all fox farms line of nutes. Soild is good for up to about 30 days without a feed then 1/4 strength. Ph always

I’m not sure about the soil. It came from somebody who grows alot. Its on my list of questions to ask but its a friend of a friend so i can’t ask directly. Also on my list is was it fed already and just how old is the plant.

Not thats there black its gotta he dark

Should I pop it into a different bucket before it gets root bound? Thats a new one I haven’t heard yet. But it came from a guy who grows all the time. Said it wouldn’t need to be repotted

It must drain well and be thick enough to be dark

Ur bucket looks like the ones that have a lil plat that catchhes drips? Thats not optimal… U want it to drip out and away

Yes. I’ve had to tip it to drain it. I think i can take of the bottom though. But youre saying I want the bucket to be dark inside? Not a black bucket but dark inside. And that one might let light leak through?

Keep asking u will be guide right buckets. Yes dark inside not necessarily black inside

@fano_man I did some research. It can cause algae. Beginner’s have water issues so they should start with dark buckets to stay away from root issues never said a must. Just threw it out there so they can research on it

No light no green growth
