So at the TOP of my dome, I am reading about 175 PPFD but when I lower it to âdirt levelâ with the dome still on, I am getting 151 PPFD. Which measurement should I be using? Dome or âdirtâ level?
Youâre good right there. 150 when they pop, 175 when they get a bit bigger. No real effective difference between the two. You just donât want to blast them out of the gate. Youâll be turning it up to 300 after the first week.
I really feel like I should install some kind of air filter or something on those bottom intakes. its driving me nuts having them wide open like that. I just dont feel like I should be allowing dust and shit like that to just get sucked right in through the bottom when my fan is doing its thing.
Youâve got photos, so youâll have to do it sooner or later. Youâll need another length of 6â duct, enough to put at least 1 bend in it. That goes into one of the duct openings in the tent. At the other end you put a duct screen like below

That will filter out larger particles and light. If you want a tighter mesh, loop some panty hose over it.

I have like 20 ft of duct. I ordered the suggested piece. Thank you! It will be here wednesday. It was driving me nuts seeing that opening!

Still waiting on my other seeds to arrive. They were marked as âDeliveredâ yesterday but they were not delivered here. So we shall see. And my intake filter will arrive tomorrow.
Nothing green in my tent that i can see in my sprout cups yet. but in all fairness, I cant really see through the domes very well anymore. They are fogged up bad.

I am considering trying to take a peak and see if there are roots forming or not.
Give them until Friday. Any digging you do will effectively kill them if the are actually growing. If thereâs nothing Friday morning Iâd call it, check if they did anything and move on with your plans. Did you ever get your seed package?
They JUST arrived. Im gonna germinate seeds later.
I am considering trying the paper towel in a ziplock method this time though lol
If you do the paper towel make sure the material is a tight enough âweaveâ that the tails donât grow into it and get torn when you unfold. Heard of issues with this, usually with folks that do extended times in the towel.

Or maybe this time I will use tiny little shot glasses and give each seed their own.
Also, you have said that you use Jacks 321 for every stage of the grow. I assume you mean every stage except germination, right?
I use plain water and h2o2 in the soak cups. After 24 hours they go in coco thatâs jacked up. Once they sprout, what I water with is Jacks mix. Always full strength and always with runoff.

So I am assuming the girl who has poked her head out needs to stay domed at all times now? When do I add water? do I water the Coco or do I mist the dome? Or for now am I doing nothing?
