@Low yeah probably no food til then unless starts to flower. I tested a large cup full of the soil, run off was 1600+ so there’s a lot of something in there lol
That’s not necessarily a bad thing, let’s see how she acts 3-4 weeks from now…
Idk how much you’ve read about starting off if FFOF, but a lot of people seem to end up with issues around 4-6 weeks. Just keep an eye on the ppms.
Hopefully you don’t mind if I tag along.
Thanks @Low for the compliment on the little lady. I’ve heard good things and bad things about the soil. The Northern Lights Autos seem to be pretty hardy and forgiving based on the grow journals I have read. I’m just gonna try and keep my temps consistent and ph anything going in to 6.3-6.5.
Figure if she makes it through I’ll have some nice smoke around the 4th of July.
And please by all means tag along.
Sweet, I will follow. You said it’s been 25+ years for you, it’s been 10 for me. And I’m only a decade a lot has changed, I want to follow.
Is the 6.5 range to counter act the soil ph?
Oh she’s a bonnie looking little girl!
I am definitely going to keep tabs on your grow because I am intensely curious to see what steps and methods you are taking with autos and seeing what advice on the matter you can get your hands on.
I am doing my own first time grow and it has really made me appreciate how intricate this whole shebang is.
@Low @MedicineStickMan My reason for the 6.5 ph going in is FFOF is supposed to be 6.3 to 6.8 out of the bag. I figure If I keep my water going in about 6.5 I shouldn’t change soil ph much. I’m doing this because the plant is so small in her container I won’t be able to water to runoff for a little while to see what’s coming out.
Also hoping it to provide a buffer as the slightly acidic ph will make a little less of the nutrients available to the roots in this hot soil until she gets her big girl pants on. Lol
Your logic follows my own to a T. I chose FFOF for the exact same reason and the native pH of my local water runs anywhere from 7.5 to 7.9, I can dial it back to the 6.5 to 6.8 range with pH Down. As far as FFOF running a bit hot, my own lil’ girl was put straight into FFOF after popping open and I haven’t seemed to have any issues whatsoever in terms of nutrient burn or everything being a bit too over-the-top for her.
Welcome Old Gypsy
Esmeralda Is looking good. This forum and the people on it are great and Really some good advice here I’m sure you be ok here. Interesting post I’m going to tag along Things really changed in 25 years. They have it down to a Science now.
Day 4.
She looks happy to me. Dome has been off all day, temp and humidity in tent are pretty stable over last 24 hrs. She might get her dome back tonight. Supposed to cool off a lot again tonight I’ll sleep better knowing she’s covered.
Thanks @anon84397802
Looking good.
Nice short stem. What light you using?
I probably missed reading it ?
Good call on covering it tonight. Mist the top of Dome.
I be tempted to give her a drink
Mars Hydro Ts600.
Yeah the tent is in basement and it’s drafty down there. I figure covered up even if the temperature outside the tent drops a lot I’ll have the heat radiating from the 5gallon pot to make it through the night.
Good deal
I gave her 4oz with Rhizotonic and calmag yesterday morning
I have a basement grow going also. Limited on height but it works.
OH NO!!! DAY 5.
Woke up to this. Chunk of a leaf is missing.
Genetic mutation? Pests? Should I be worried?
@Mark0427 @beardless @Nicky @Not2SureYet
Should I be concerned with this leaf damage in above post? I went back to day 3 or 4 pics and it is barely noticable. It is very noticeable this morning? Thanks in advance! Gypsy✌
I would def look over the leaves and soil for bugs looks like something took a bite out of crime
Other than that mark it looks good. Even the cotys look good no burn marks or anything
I looked at the day 4 photo. I think the chunk is bigger because the plant / leaf is getting bigger. Check for creepy crawly things but I think it more likely happened during sprouting
