Ok. Will order some more Ocean Forest.
I have a dome over it with holes close to the soil and I keep spraying it. Concerned about how I’m going to control the heat and humidity once I take the dome off though.

First few days are slow going. They are normally getting their feet (roots) under them. Expect an explosion of growth soon. Also she appears slightly yellowish. That maybe a sign of overwatering. Try not to splash her everyday. At this age they drink very minimally and overwatering is the biggest threat.
Yes she’s a little yellow. I thought it was due to the harsh Ocean Farms that she’s planted in.
I’m going away for 2 days. Should I have someone water her or just give her a little spray and leave her alone for the 2 days I’m gone? I’ll be back tomorrow night so shouldn’t be a bid deal?? @PurpNGold74
O yea. She’ll be fine. I water my soil before planting seed n dont water again til at least a week. Usually 10-14 days. Then again in like 5-7
@PurpNGold74 When you plant it, do you wet the soil all the way through or just the area you’re dropping the seed into?
I just got back and my son said he watered it yesterday. I noticed one of the leaves looks a little brown. It’s hot as Hades here today so the it’s 90F in the tent. I opened the door again to bring the temp down a bit.
It looks a little overwatered. Stop watering! Don’t water again until the soil dries out completely.
All the way thru. But thats enough for a week or two to start. Yes stop watering her for a while. She cant grow in wet shoes.
N 90 is ok for a little. But u def wanna get that temp down
@PurpNPurpNGold74 The temp was down to 82F this morning. When I planted I didn’t wet the soil all the way through. Still feels a tiny bit moist so I’m going to leave it alone and and check the soil later today.
Nice work. N yea. Let her get a lil thirsty
Yay! My bag of Ocean Forest came in so I’m planting another one today. So if I’m putting it in it’s forever pot, then I should wet the soil all the way through and then plant it? And do I put a dome on it right away or ONLY after it sprouts? @dbrn32 @PurpNGold74 @RubiBANANA666
Ocean Forest is hella hot. So potting soil (as no nuted as possible) is recommended to start. Even if going straight into final homes. Bottom half ffof. Top a 60-40 mix. And yes. I wet my soil like a day after i drop my seeds in they bath. Or same day. So another day or two for germing and straight into the damp hole.
Also ive found that doming immediately helps my not lose her in the dirt in case of a no show. (And humidity is more important then light before she breaks ground)
@PurpNGold74 I just went to pot the other one (OF is all I have) and checked on the sprout of the other one and a leaf fell off. Not good. I have to assume it was NEEDING water?? The soil was completely dry as I was told to let it dry out before watering again. It was yellow and just fell right off when I touched it. Is this plant as good as dead??
Nope. Water her butt. Do u add perlite to ur soil? Edit: stupid question. Duh look at the photo.
N honestly? They dont get much water from soil under two weeks. Do u have a humidity check in tent? And maybe mist her and the soil. 2 days without a drink def shouldnt fry a seedling
Got a pic of the little lady and said leaf? The soil ur using is hot. (MG n FF, just FF is loaded with goodies MG is supered nitrogen) and both are notorious for cooking baby girls
Yes there is perlite and coco coir in thatsoil. Unfortunately the best I can get is ocean forest. Everything else is Miracle Grow. I can’t get Hapoy Frog. Is there anything I can do to save it? @dbrn32 @raustin @PurpNGold74
That soil looks very wet. Seedlings need to be in dry soil with just a little bit of water. I think this seedling is damping off from the overwatering, but also the nutes in the soil.
That ocean forest is great but again super hot. Maybe start them in a solo cop of coir and perlite? Thatll be a perfect starter for a couple weeks
@raustin it was completely dry before I took the photo but then I wet it because the leaves are really dry and the one fell off. OMG I’m going to scream if I have to start over. The soil was never wet through. I was only spraying it a bit and it would dry out in a few hours. So it was pretty dry. I would just spray the dome a couple of times a day for humidity. I did order a humidifier to put in there but it hasn’t come yet. Not sure what do. Can I save her? I was so excited to see those 2 little leaves and then they turned yellow. Should I take her out and put her in a cup of perlite and coco coir?? I can’t find SHIT at the local home depot. All their stuff is Miracle Grow.
At this point, you can try to save it by putting it in some coir, that might help, but be very gentle. If you’re not overwatering, then it must be the nutes in the soil that’s burning her.
