First Grow Ever, How does it look?

The nodes will stack tightly toward the top, and yes this is what you want. Its makes for dense buds when they are close together.

Day 1 of week 3 of flower, we are having a bad storm in Hawaii and power just went out in the middle of my light cycle. supposed to get 4 more hours of light. is this gonna stress my plants and do i need to make up for the lost light time? What do i need to do if anything?

It might stress them but youre early enough in flower. Should recover. Id just resume regular schedule when you can. I wouldn’t try to compensate.

Power came back on with 30 mins left on the cycle. I just went and turned them off. Give them a good night of uninterrupted extra sleep. Pics tomorrow they are starting to button up nicely

This whole experience so far has been fun and interesting. And I know I only have a small set up, but this is exciting as well. I think I’m gonna end up doing a defoliation in another two or three days and end up trying to lollipop these.

A good timeline for updress/decon is at about day 21 of flower.

I agree with @Docnraq. Its best to wait until they are completely done stretching before you defoliate any more. You dont want to stress her out during the period of most explosive growth.

Is this mold or early tricombs? I was reading and heard my strain is very susceptible to mold and from the few pics and video I can find for my strain, they don’t get frosty like some others they just get big and dense. I have around 26 tops in this 2x2 at day 19 of flower.

Look like trichomes to me

so my VPD was climbing to 1.93 the last 2 days so i decided to defoliate 2 days early. i am nervous and i hope i did enough and not to much. i did some reading and if it bounces back in 24 hrs i should be good. cut a bunch of super thin nodes that had tops on them bit they were struggling to reach light. did i do too much?!

As long as theres no dense pockets of vegetation clumped together i personally leave quite a bit until like 7 weeks after light flip. Leaves are what produce energy for your plant.

you were a bit aggressive imo but the plants will be fine. I usually dont trim lower leaves, only underdeveloped branches/lower buds, the plants will shed the leaves it doesnt need as it fades. I wouldnt trim anymore. I wouldnt chase vpd, just make sure your humidity and temp arent to high. They look good.

They seem to have done well. I watered them this morning they were a little droopy and an hour after watering began praying. VPD is sitting around 1.62 and humidity is at 54%, temp is still at 80 degrees. My light is as high as it can go. I zip tied it to the tent frame. I lowered the intensity to 70% and it’s 15 inches from tallest top. my exhaust is at 90% and I have the tent zipper opened about 6 inches to help heat exchange. I’m nervous as I’ve ever been. I have read this is the time that makes or breaks your grow.

Im just having coffee but you are growing an autoflower right?

Morning for them or you? When plants sleep they actually get really droopy. Some not all but really droopy. They could have been just waking up. The Garden Director at work told me that you should give them an entire hour after lights on before any watering events.

Whats your DLI? Check it at the top of canopy and then check it at the bottom. Find a happy medium between the two otherwise you will end up with great tops and fluffy bottoms. To little light will make your plants stretch out and reach for the light. You can actually use light intensity to squat your plants a little if you need. For now just focus on dialing in your DLI for the whole canopy. Ill drop these charts here just incase.

Just be careful its not too warm on tent material or for zipties. Cheaper they are easier they melt. I sometimes have to remove the little metal hangers and just use the ratchet straps to hold light up.

Dont be, irrational decisions are all that can come from nervousness. You have literally 100’s of years worth of grow experience at your fingertips here on the forum. So many pros here in your thread already. You got this and we are here to help.

No, that is perfect in my book. Some would argue to much for an autoflower but HEALTHY plants (auto or photo) and at this stage can for sure handle it. Autoflower genetics have come a long way.

You are doing great and your ladies look happy AF.

They are photos, I thought I had autos then I read the package at day 60 from seed and felt dumb. As to your questions it was morning for both me and plants. They have bounced back and looking really good. I don’t know how to check the DLI but they getting 12/12. I have been keeping an eye on the heat from the light ballast being it’s 2 inches from the tent. It is a bit worrying, I have been running the sf1000 at 80% for the vast majority of the last 30 days at about 14 inches away. They were handling it well, but during stretching it just kept getting closer and closer every day. Which I’ve read is normal. Should I be concerned that I’ve lowered my intensity to 70% at this point. I am still battling Temperature, My temperature in my lung room is 73° but the temperature in my tent is 81.3. My humidity is OK at 53% my VPD travel a bit from 1.5 to 1.75 depending on the time of the day. Definitely a struggle to keep optimal environment

Probably one of the most well written and informative threads on this board.

Do you uave the driver for your light inside or outside your tent?

It is inside the tent. I’m not to tech savvy and did not want to take it apart and mess something up. It is a sf1000

I hope I’m just paranoid

All bud sights are looking like this except this one. Is something wrong with it like rott?

Unless your light is an old version of sf1000 (v1) then you can and should remove the driver and mount it outside your tent somewhere. I put a metal rack near my tent and secure my drivers and power bars to it. This keeps them off the floor (safe from liquid/spills) and away from the walls and such. This will lower the temperature inside your tent by 3-7 degrees. If you cant its not the end of the world just do your best and keep good ventilation and air movement inside your tent.

Hairs gotta turn orange at some point. However I have read before that half orange half white is a sign of stress. Either way new white will show again as the bud grows.
You mentioned that A)these are photoperiod seeds and B) you have been opening the tent flap some to mitigate heat. Because you are growing photoperiod, light leaks during dark periods can/will cause problems. It stresses the plant out, imagine how you would feel if the sun came up at midnight. Plants have a circadian rhythm too. It is crucial that you keep it dark at lights out. The leaves can detect a light that gives even 1 ppfd. Watch for herms on that bud as time goes on, if one shows you will want to catch it early.
I see nothing wrong on your plant. Be vigilant, keep watch and love your ladies.
No matter what, you will learn so much more from a failed grow then you will a successful one. If these plants died tomorrow you would just need to correct the mistakes and plant again.
