Hey guys, I’m new to this forum and to growing cannabis! I picked up 3 seeds that I’ve been nursing for 2 months now. The plants all auto flowering and I put them straight into 5 gallon fabric pots with Happy Frog soil in a tent with a couple grow lights (18/6) and a couple small fans blowing on them at all times.
The plants now range from 40-60cm in height. I’ve got some big buds now, but I’m not sure exactly where I’m at in the overall cycle. I would assume I have about 2 weeks to go given that I read Autoflowers are ready to harvest at 10 weeks.
I have watered way less than I thought I’d have to, but the plants seem healthy. Only recently I’ve started to add a little bit of Medi-One organic fertilizer, but not very much because everything I’ve read tells me how sensitive auto-flowers are to nutes.
So here are a few photos, I’d appreciate any advice on where I go from here… I believe at some point I have to start flushing the plants with water, I’m just not sure when. I also read about harvesting certain buds earlier to allow the lower ones more time to mature, but then today saw that you harvest the whole plant and hang it to dry. Which do you guys prefer?
That’s what I wanted to hear actually… sounds like I’ve got about 2 weeks left. I’m excited to see how big these guys get.
Should I be adding fertilizer or sugar/molasses at this point? Should I be lowering the ph of the water? It comes out at 7, the MediOne brings it down to about 6.2 if I’m using it… otherwise I haven’t been adjusting.
I think you have more than 2 weeks. You can’t go by the breeders time frame as that is perfect growing conditions.
You need to get a $10 Jeweler Loupe off Amazon. A really important piece since this will let you see the trichomes. 60x magnification and you see the trichomes with no guessing from here on out.
I add Raw sugar after tbey have started flowering. I add a out every 3 days about 1 tsp per feeding.
I guess another question I’ve got is how often do you water? Mine are auto flower so they’re quite small, but I’m watering them far less than I expected to. Something along the lines of a litre a week split up every 3-4 days. They’ve never appeared stressed and I know from other plants that too much water is as bad or worse than too little water. But I don’t want to stunt their growth. Should I be giving them a good soaking? Again, they’re in 5 gallon fabric pots.
Depends on where they are at. When full flower I end up using water till I see it dripping off the bottom almost daily. It can be 1/2 to full 1 gallon of water per day.
My general rule is use enough where you can collect to test.
