About to start my first Grow. Now I’ve read books and more books plus I’ve watched more :-)tube then I care to admit.
My homemade room is 5×5 ×6foot tall. My walls are covered with mylar and I have a 1200watt king led full spectrum light.
I’ve got a small fan to the air around and I’ve got fresh air able to come in the room or be removed. I also have a germination cabnet with a t-12 Florissant.
I’ve got ph up and down. I’ve got the general organics GO BOX that includes BIOTHRIVE grow and bloom. Cal Mg+ BioRoot,Bioweed,BioBud,BioMarine and DiamondBlack.
I’ve got 3 ,5-gallon DWC buckets with air pump and stones.
I beleave I’ve got what I need and ready to get started .problem is I’m confused as how to get started from all the reading and :-)tube.
Can some one that has been in my shoes help me along to get started? Is my light enough for my 5×5 area?. Thanks… Oh yea my fruit is ak-47 fem from bergman
Put it all together, water in the buckets, air stones running, net pots/medium in place, light on…then check rh, temp, ph of water, see how it all blends together…straighten things out before plants.
exactly what I would say to anyone starting from the ground up Kabongster is right you want complete knowledge of your environment a 24hr dry run lets you know if you are capable of being mother nature and what needs to be dialled in with no risk to your plants.

I was wondering when I mix the nutes for each bucket do I mix according to how much water is in the bucket and each week when I add more nutes do I take out the old water and mix new? or mix one gallon of nutes water and add to the water in the bucket?
I change out whole bucket but that’s just me

Do you think the one 1200 watt led is plenty of light for my 5×5×6 area?
Led is not my expertise I am an HID guy
I’ve got one 24inch 2 bulb Florissant light with t-12 bulbs.
This light is in a cabinet that sets about 3inchs above the dome of my plastic tray that my rock wool. Will be in.
Is this light enough to germ my seeds/clones?
yes it certainly will be enough to germinate with closer to actual plants would be nice 3-4" seems to work best preventing stretch don’t forget to soak your rock wool in ph’d water for several hours before putting in seeds 
I’m going to play with the temp and humidity for a few days and find my nitch to keep controll .
I’m hoping to start germ Friday and will keep up the process through out my grow.
Ok I put my seeds in a cup of water for 24 hours at that time to seed cracked open so I put them in a wet paper towel folded it up putting the inside of a baggie and put it on top of my DVD player the next day I had roots coming out of the seed little more than a quarter inch long I then put them in my rockwool cubes that I pre soak with pH water at 5.7 and I put them under t12 fluorescent lights with a dome over the top and the next morning when I checked on my babies they had popped up once they did that I took the dome off and I kept them in there for but two days and I didn’t see no growth of any kind they stayed the same size so I took the tray out of my little cabinet and I put it in the middle of my main growing area and turned on my 1200 watt LED light full spectrum light they had in the last 4 days have not moved at all i pH the water and I put 3 drops of bio-gro nutrients into a half cup water and I poured it into the bottom of my tray that I have the rock wool setting inits been 5 days and they are the same size they’re not dead but there not growing they’re greenbut they’re not moving my humidity fluctuates back and forth between 79% and 45% in my tip temperature is ride around tween 77 and 81can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or what I can do to start their growth
Well I always hate starting in rock wool but I suspect you are doing nothing wrong and your roots are trying to work their way through the rock wool are you giving them any dark time? Have they started any true leaves?
I’m giving them 6 hours dark and no true leaves yet.
Did you pre soak the rock wool to ph it down? usually need to lower it’s ph considerably I soak it over night. If they aren’t wilting or damping off they may yet pick up your temps are a little high too 70-75f the led may be too strong too
When the seedlings popped out of the rock wool, you took off the dome…did you mist them?
I am not sure of the amount, but you added fertilizer to the seedlings, bio grow…is this made by BioBizz?
Maybe the Bio Grow nutrients, made for vegging, were a bit premature to use, shocked the babies and they have temporarily stopped growing.
Ok…tomorrow will be one week since starting germination. We are using bag seeds (from some really good kush). We are using dwc (bubble buckets).
Here is our set up:
Germination started Jan 24th.
“Storage”(what we call it) is 5x5x6’.
We have 2 humidifiers.
One small heater- really not used. …haven’t needed it.
1200 w led full spectrum light ( exactly 20 in away from plants).
Started misting plants once a day for 1st 2 days -notice humidity stays higher more we spray-now spray 3 times daily.
using home aid co2 .
have 4in intake and a 4in outtake fans.
approx 8in oscillating fan running 24/7.
temps are lows 77 -high 82 degrees.
Humidity is running low at 42- high of 77%.
We keep the door of the “storage” area cracked open to keep temps regulated.
plants are about 11/2 inches tall.
This is our first grow… we are really trying to treat them like babies…
we do not have an air conditioner. .it’s the middle of winter…Do we NEED it yet?
It seems like these little babies aren’t growing any?
What are we doing wrong?
They look heathly…But looks like they haven’t changed since they got their first set of real (three fingered) leaves???
Did you have roots visible coming out of rockwool before putting it in DWC basket did you wash and soak Leca/hydroton?
No tap roots growing out of rock wool…yes rinsed the leca off very well…final two rinses…used ph’d water for final two rinses
Your plant will be putting lots of energy towards rooting so slow starting growth can be somewhat expected
What are you using for dwc a pre-made system diy recirculating? just a few little details to help me trouble shoot with you take your time answering have to check on my ladies so will be out for an hour or two. The more detail even pictures would be helpful thanks
