I’m into 2 wks of my first grow with 24k auto plant seems to be doing well but is not growing much in height but I’m not sure if that is a trait in this auto.I have it planted in FF ocean Forest soil and using FF trio for soil.I’m not sure when to begin feeding the tigerbloom on an auto any help will be appreciated.

Typically I don’t start feeding until the 5th or 6th node but I grow in a different medium than you are using.
Fox farm ocean forest has quite a bit of nutrients in it already so you might not need to start giving them tiger bloom for a while.
If it were me I would monitor the cotyledon leafs (the first set of round leafs that pop out of the soil) and when those start to yellow then it’s time to give them a feeding but I would start out with 1/4 of the recommended dose.
Typically the cotyledon leafs have enough nutrients to sustain the plant for a while, that along with the nutrients in your soil it might be a little while before you have to feed them. You don’t want to over feed them when they are young so it’s best to wait until they need it.

Thanks for your feedback I have been giving half the recommended amount of big bloom and just started half of the big grow at every other watering. I’ll back off on the big grow and continue with the big bloom as it is supposed to promote root growth. Thanks again.

I’ve personally never grown in fox farm ocean forest or used the fox farm nutrient line but A lot of people use them and have had very successful grows. Some people have issues with the soil being too hot to add nutrients right off but others have had no issues but I wanted to mention it.

Do you use a PH meter to test your water?
Fox farm nutrients lower the PH level of the water when added. Being in fox farm ocean forest you would want your PH around 6.5, the best tip I could give you is to purchase a Digital PH meter and monitor your PH level. Not having the correct PH can cause issues with your grow, it’s easy to check and can save you time and money.

I ordered ph up,down and a meter from amazon and I’m glad I did the PH of my tap water is 9.1 and I adjust water and water with neuts. The first time I had to use the chemical test with color chart because I had not received the meter but to my surprise I checked it when the meter arrived an I had it at 6.3.I now shoot for 6.5 to 6.8

I’m thinking of lowering my light schedule I have been on 18/6 mainly because that is what is recommended on the FF grow schedule.I have been reading that a 14/10 is a good schedule for autos so I’m thinking I should go to 16/8 and then consider going down to 14/10 when I get close to flowering…
@gldeaton50 I have read 20/4 is ok with auto’s, but have been thinking that it is just too much for mine. She has been on 20/4 since the beginning, and she is fast approaching 45 days and only showing a few pistils; not the white ones, just green ones on the stems. I think maybe some autos can take that much and be fine with it, but I am going to lower my schedule down to 16/8 like you and then try and drop her a little more if I see that she is liking it. I will let you know how she responds.
Thanks seems like there are an endless amount of things to consider but there is no reason to be too strong on the lighting schedule can always go back up if you don’t like the results.I’m switching tonight.

They love 12/12 everything needs rest that’s when they do a lot of growing is at night 24-7 20-4 work but I have had 10x better results when you let them sleep I start everything I do at 14/10 after I get them going then drop to 12/12 on my photo plant that I do in same room

I have been thinking a lot about it and it seems that if you focus growth through light the effect could be that the roots are not growing at a balanced rate to the plant. The right amount of light may be that found in nature.My 24K auto seems very healthy but there is not very much vertical growth. The distance between nodes is very short leading me to believe a more balanced schedule is appropriate. If there is one thing I have learned it is to listen to the voice of experience. Thanks for your input.

@Hogmaster @gldeaton50, I let her sleep for a full 8 hours last night, and tonight I will give her 10, and then I will then switch to 12 and 12 after that. I My instincts are telling me you guys are 100% right and my plants is exhausting herself on the schedule I had her on.
I appreciate your wisdom so very much and as stated before, I will keep you updated on how she takes to the new schedule.

I plan to go to 14/10 tonight and hold there until wk5 and then go 12/12 and begin Tiger bloom fert. I’ll take another photo on wk3 next Wed. When I began this I planed to take a photo each week. Make it a great grow for all!

@Hogmaster, ok, I started for tonight then. I did my best to make it very dark so she can rest good. She has been hesitant to flower, even though the autos have their timing built in, will the new schedule alter her programed schedule?

@gldeaton50…I love taking pics, cause when i don’t think she grew that much the pics tell a different story. And looking at everyone else pictures is so crazy cool I can hardly get enough.
I don’t think the change will alter flowering in fact it may encourage it, you have to go to 12/12 to make a regular strain begin flowering.I’d like to see a photo of your plant if you would like to share it.

I just know for a fact that having your autos under At least 14on 10 off have better results then one that’s 18/6-24-0 even 20-4 when I put my photos under flower is when I throw in my autos and I start out on a two hour long and call Walker schedule during flowering till the last two or three weeks and then I reduce to turn on 14 off even with my autos
