First Ever Grow - Indoor | Grow Tent | LED | Auto White Widow

@kellydans I was going to grow this one just with LST techniques as I’ve heard Topping Auto’s can be detrimental to their growth. Looks like the LST is doing a good enough job as it is, so maybe on the next grow I’ll top it :man_shrugging:t3:

Yeah it’s been good! I’m growing in super soil, so not that many nutes needed. Just been feeding it 1/3 the dosage of FF trio (minus bloom) once every other watering.

Been obsessed with checking the growth and LST - I adjust it probably twice a day minimum.

Sounds like a plan ! Plant looks very happy.

Just a visual update at day 30.

Removed the SCROG because it just wasn’t helping and got more vigorous with the LST.

@aPotforPot thought I’d keep you in the loop a month later. Seems to be loving it’s home!

Did some minor defoliage today, as I’ve been LST’ing so frequently that I’ve grown this sort of mangled canopy. Upside is that canopy has 10 HUGE heads poking through all at the same height. Downside is it’s a pain in the ass to water now.

@kellydans @Zee any ideas on how to water her easily? She’s LST’d so low I have minimal clearance for anything. Ended up using a turkey baster yesterday :joy:

@GST93, she is looking like a piece of art. Very happy and healthy. Great job, keep it up!

I don’t LST, but I would go with a watering can with a long spout. Like this:

@kellydans @Zee Appreciate both of your help - honestly didn’t even think of a long spout…

I’ll be back with an update in about a week when she starts flowering.

I’m back early - did a bit of research and realised I might be starting to flower with these little pistil looking things popped up today.

Week 5 starts tomorrow, which means according to the Fox Farms trio schedule, it’s bang on time for starting bloom nutes.

Day 37 - 3 days into flowering. Did some heavier defoliation to clean her up and she sprung right up. Seems to be loving the nute mix and we have plenty of colas growing :+1:t2:

Doing great @GST93, keep doing what you’re doing! I think we will be getting more than expected! Can’t wait to see what she does in flowering now. I know nutes will make her take off! Rocket ship!

Alright we’re pretty far into this now with some degree of success so getting a bit more advanced.

Decided to LST it as you can see above, and so had a really nice dense canopy but I feel as though it was getting too thick. That’s when I did a lot of research on defoliation of Autos and it was somewhat considered a no-go… whiiich is why I decided to do it anyway.

Pretty much removed about 50% of the foliage over 3 days. Gave it more of a lollipop look with a clean canopy. I have maybe 10-12 LARGE colas and another 8-10 smaller colas popping through at canopy height.

She responded extremely well and had huge growth overnight focused mainly on the colas.

Curious as to your thoughts or opinions? Have you significantly defoliated an Auto before?

I hear you loud and clear. I like pushing the envelope, or maybe am rebellious and do what I want. In a nutshell, I don’t always follow the norm.

You’re ahead of me on your grow, i didn’t do autos, am on photo. However wanted to share this, everything I read said don’t defoliate, its bad, etc…

I say to each their own. Look at these pics a week a part. I topped in 2nd pic and cleared leaves in the way of branches on the 3rd. They love it.

Keep it going, she looks beautiful! Keep doing you!

They look great. Defoiliation looks good. After the buds get a little further along I like to take the lower fan leaves off.

Wow the growth after that topping is insane. Might have to give that a try on some of the Fem Cheese seeds I have waiting to go in the ground :clap:t3:
