First ever grow. Can’t do it without you guys. Pls help

I suspect your sensor not reading properly. The packs will usually equalize the jars pretty well

Does it take awhile? Lol maybe these little cheap meters aren’t good

I never watched too closely, but shouldn’t take terribly long.

If you look online there is a mixture of salt and water you can make to check them. I don’t remember the mixture ratio though.

I’m going to look into that. Do you think maybe the jar lids are leaking or something? I feel like I can smell a very faint hint scent of the bud but not sure Lol

Actually. Yes I can smell some of the bud from the jar lid. Very light

@CannaNewbie … I think part of your problem is that, you’re only using 58% packs when you should be using 62%. Also, switch over to Ball, Kern, or Mason jars.

Thanks. I just Jared into two smaller ball jars but need more. Going to pick up a 32oz ball jar tomorrow. I have the 62% humidity packs coming in tomorrow. Do u think I have to maybe rehydrate the buds? Will the 62% be enough or should I put 72% in them for alittle bit to rehydrate maybe? It’s my first time idk if I even make sense half the time

@CannaNewbie . . . I use the BALL 32 oz. Amber jars. I fill them 3/4 full & use 2, 62% packs & the same meters that you have. Remember this, the dryer the bud, the longer it will take to get the RH up to the 62% target. After I jar up my harvest, it can take up to 2 weeks for the RH to stabilize at the 62% point. Also, the bigger the jar, the more packs you need to use.

I see. I was going to order the 32oz amber ball jars but delivery said would be on Friday. Just going to get a clear one tomorrow. I guess I’ll throw the 62% in Tomorrow and just keep them closed and see what happened. Didn’t know it could take that long to raise the rh. I thought I was going to have to put orange peels in the jars

@CannaNewbie . . . Make sure that, for the first 2 weeks, you open the jars for about an hour each day. Open each jar, & shake them around to loosen up the buds. Them set them down to air out. After that, it can be done once or twice a week. Then for storage, fresh 62% packs and you can seal & store for a long time.

Thanks I will. I just hope I can bring them up to 62%. They feel dry right now

@CannaNewbie . . . well you can use as many packs as you like/need to get the RH up

Thank you. Will keep u posted for sure

Personally, I wouldn’t cure with the boveda packs at all. Therefore no issue with 58 over 62. Of the info I have collected perfectly cured cannabis will rest at 55% rh. The only reason you would put boveda in now is to attempt to rehydrate the buds a little. Imo the packs are better option than anything organic that may breakdown or invite other issues.

@dbrn32, @CannaNewbie . . . That’s what he’s doing, I believe. Said his RH was low, & he has some dry bud, So yeah, he wants to rehydrate it. And I never use orange peels or any organic mater for that very reason.

I see, yes I’m going to use it to try and rehydrate. I have two packs of the 58 in the jars and still hasn’t moved up from 58%. Going to try the 62 tomorrow and see how it goes. Maybe I over dried them, I let them dry for 6 days before putting in the jars

The packs will do it for sure.
There is a risk of using something organic for sure but if you do it right your weed can get a little terpen boost.
But I will admit I have don’t it wrong before forgot a peel and lost a jar of weed to mould.

Hey so I put the 62 humidity packs in yesterday and it went from 55 to 60% in two of my smaller jars but still at 56% in my larger jar. I put 3 packs in it now. I think you mentioned it takes awhile for it to climb up. During that time, do I still need to burp the jars or only burp when the humidity goes passed 62%?
