First auto- trim and lst or leave alone

The more videos on YouTube I watch the more confused I get. There’s so much different information on auto flowers out there that completely contradicts everything. I understand that autos are more sensitive within photos. I have the gorilla glue 4 auto. She’s getting bushy and it’s time to trim and lst. But should I? See videos and read articles where people don’t do anything and that’s what they recommend, then I watch videos where they recommend a trim, and some tell you to trim like a photo. I’m just not sure what to do.

1\2 strength nutes, but twisted leaves with a huge saw tooth.

Trim as necessary to maintain good airflow with the plant’s canopy to ensure replenishment of CO2 and to mitigate the risk of mold. The plant otherwise needs its leaves to manufacture the sugars the plant needs to grow and be healthy.

I recommend a complete help ticket on this plant and new pictures. It does not look healthy but the zoom goes crappy on my phone.

Answer these simple questions the best you can. If you aew not sure, just bring it to oue attention. We will figure it out.

  1. Indoor or outdoor? - size of grow?
  2. Otigin of seeds?
  3. Regular, feminized, or autoflower?
  4. Origin of water. PH, EC/TDS of source water?
  5. PH and TDS/EC of if mixed solution?
  6. Grow method? Soil, Soil-less, Coco, Hydro, Aquaponics. Please explain.
  7. Nutrients or fertilizer system used.
  8. What typr of lighting are you using? LED, HID (MH, CMH, HPS), or Fluorescents? Please elaborate.
  9. What are the temps in your growspce? Day / Night?
  10. What is the RH = relative humidity in your growspace? Day / Night?
  11. AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier?
  12. Do you have a Ventilation system? Size? 4", 6"?
  13. Co2 Yes / No?
  14. How long have you been growing?
  15. What budget have you set in order to grow successfully?
  16. If you grow hydro, then please explain your hydro method. DWC, R-DWC, Ebb and Flow, Or; Other? Other?

16b. Size and temperature of solution in reservoir?

Always try to upload a clear picture in white light of any issues you may have to allow the community to identify your issue.

Anything you feel would help us give you more informed advice should be included. Feel free to elaborate at the end of the survey.

I am running a Zkittles auto. At 2 weeks I did a FIM. 1 week later LST. I did a few super croppings to level out taller colas.

It pretty much starts here up to 2 days ago. I’m learning as well. I’ve learned that this one is pretty resilient and recovered from each thing. I did. Tried to space them out as well so as not to induce too much stress.

Man I fell for ya. Plant has been knocked around a bit.
Definitely need a coco grower and to pin down the watering schedule. You saved it 3 times in your journal we know you got one more.

Can you modify your enviroment to reach better numbers. I am close to flip but these numbers will hold for 6 weeks into flower then humidity and temp trend down to 75 and 1.5 vdp

I do not do cocoa and would not want to steer you wrong. The enviroment you set up will set your light and nute needs and this needs improvement. More heat more airflow in tent. Better control of humidity. Such a low vdp gives plant to reason to uptake water as it can not transpire properly

O wait you have your grow light on seedling stage. If the app is controlling the spectrum you are missing a lot of heat. I tested the lights when I got them and seedling stage is very weak. Veg spectrum increased ppfd by 15% and jacks up red light.

I’d love to turn off the automation, I just haven’t figured out how. I’ll throw the dehumidifier in which will bring up the temp and humidity down. I was always told not to grow bud over 80°, is that wrong? Or is that a photo. Thing?

Changed my recipe let’s s see what that does.

What numbers should I be running for a auto? What’s the target?

Ok let’s see if I can help. First some questions
Can you control the light power from the app? It shows it is set for 60%>
I run 1/2 my stuff on ACI and it automatically controls humidity by setting it on the app. You can not do this so you are going to use a vdp chart.
This chart will help you set up the proper humidity. For the temp.
Can you control the heat? Can you control humidity?
This place has issues with outside links so you will have to search VDP chart. It will have temp on one side and humidity on the other. Look up what you can control like say you know you can get 80 degrees. Look for the following range.
In seedling
6- .8 vdp. For veg .8-1.1 vdp. For flower 1.2-1.5 vdp. The chart will then show you what humidity you need.
Ok now the Vivosun app. If you are running in a recipe I can not help you. I set it up to manually control the duct fans and in tent fans in manual mode and the light using the all. When in manual you can set the spectrum and the time off and on. I am pretty sure it defaults to 18-6 for veg and seedling and 12-12 for flower. This also changes the spectrum to a more focused light for your plant growth.

I am going to play with the app and see what buttons you need to hit to control stuff. Let me know about heat and humidity and weather you can control them. Also you can find a vdp chart that will tell you what humidity to run at what temp.

Ok for the light control click the light icon. Click the cycle button. This screen lets you set the spectrum. If you did what I did it does not show on you phone till you drag the screen down. I am not calling you stupid I did this for 2 weeks before I stumbled on it LOL. Once you drag screen down you can select the spectrum you are in and the time. Pretty sure it defaults to proper as I do not remember changing it.
Once you are in manual mode the controls for fans and duct will be controllable. 2–3 is good for duct but a lot of this will be based on your control of humidity and temp

This is exactly what I wanted to do. Dude your my f’n hero. Thank you so much.

Hey man the automation keeps turning itself back on. I hit end recipe and the cloud lock light goes off and then when I exit the software it all turns back on. Am I special? Ed?

Nope. Another downward scroll shows a start button when you choose cycle and spectrum. This app is quite the joke for use ability ain’t it.

At least the AC I had a lock screen function so finger fumbling does not turn heat up to 100 …

Well still looking about the same but it started filling in. Humidity is fixed due to the snow storm and dehumidifier but I don’t trust my EC meter. So I threw some fresh water on her so I can see what she does. Wait and see right? Is she strong enough to trim you think?
