First Auto Grow - Blueberry

Thanks Yoshi, that was one of the things that I messed up on last grow, put my LED lights a LONG ways (over three feet) away and it was still too much. I figured that since you shouldn’t an Auto. I’d better try something else and it seems to be working GREAT! They all ready added several inches in the past two days under the Florescent tube (48" 42 watts, 6500 K rating.)
All ready have three families of leaves on one plant. Hope they stay together pretty well during the grow.

Best Buds,
Jerry

I need to transplant my blueberry and bubblegum. But I got too plants hanging in the grow box. That’s only place that is dark enough. But the humidity is to high in there so it’s taking longer. Watching your grow and learning from it. Thanks

Well, I finally got the grow going well. The lights are effecting the plants and they are stretching as well as having new leave sets on each plant. I may have spent a little too much time in veg, time will tell. Auto’s are a different grow all together and I am almost bored right now as there is nothing to do but watch the plants grow. Got so used to growing photo period that this seems like I should be doing more. I am making good use of the time though. Researching for my hydro grow and the best setup I can get. Will have to buy two more lights for the grow. LOVE LED but too expensive, will go with MH/HPS setup as it is cheaper (need two). I cannot afford TWO 600 watt LED’s ! ! I am going to use my one LED (300 watt) to intensify the buds as well as some UV A &B light at the end to harden the buds up. This seems to be a new science (al least I have never heard about it) I do have UV in my LED, that may be what is doing the work on hardening the buds.

The peat pots were definitely the right call for the grow and I will use them from now on. After germination, I just stuck the entire pot in the soil and they are already deteriorating into compost. No transplanting problems and they seemed a lot more healthy with no decrease in growth. I did the soil up with all the things that I could think of and it seems to be doing very well.

All in all, my general knowledge of growing all things, not just pot, has increased greatly in the last year. Thanks in no small part to the information on Robert’s site. Will add some pictures of my garden in next time as well, pretty proud of the garden and lawn.

Take care all and Great Buds to you always
Jerry

TOM Glad I can help. I am disabled and cannot get out much in the HOT weather! I make up for it in research! I write a lot on my grow as I am trying to make any details clear ! ! Occupational habit as I not only worked medicine but instructed A&P and Microbiology in college for 5 years.

Hope I can help you out!

So autos stretch more than feminized plants ?

Not always. Fem’s are generally taller than MOST Autos, but there three or four strains that last longer (10-11 weeks) and can get as tall or taller than some of the fems. I was just going by the ad at the Auto seed site I found on the internet. This is my first Auto grow.
Auto’s are a lot easier to grow, so I would expect see a lot of new growers starting with them. No photoperiod, minimal watering, minimal nutes and quick germinate to harvest time (you can turn out a new crop every 2 months) are all attractive to new growers.

Right I just bought blueberry auto and amenisa haze auto to grow , was hoping I can finish 2 plants in a small tent . But if they stretch , I’ll do one in hydro trained tied down .

Both of the ones you chose are 32-33 inch plants. Should do pretty well. Those should stay calm enough. It may be a better plan to just grow one and use LST (Low Stress Training) to let it maximize the yield. Both the plants you chose are excellent MMJ choices! Last year I tried to squeeze four tomatoes into a space that should have only had three. This year I only put three plants in and the difference in growth has been amazing! Even with the floods we had in June and July this year, the yield greatly increased. Since MJ is grown mostly like tomatoes, it should be similar in yield. I may be wrong but it actually makes sense from a science point of view.

Good luck with your ladies and keep us posted.

Awesome …I’m excited trying not to be impatient .

BTW, am going to post my bike in the Lounge tomorrow.

Now I want to see. Txt on his bike.

All right! New plants are looking well but I think the heat in the tent may have stressed them. I had one day that the A/C in the house went off and I about fried all four plants. Got the temp adjusted and they seem to be doing OK. Kind of hard to judge Auto’s as this is my first Auto grow. This AM the leaves on the bottom looked like they were loosing color. I added Alaska Fish Fertilizer 5-1-1 (a scant 1/4 tsp in a gallon) and it turned green and looks better already! (about 6 hours later).
Possibly the first disaster averted by alert observations. I have been using pH water at 6.5 - 6.6 and they seem to love it. Back to the growing tent.

I just ordered Amnesia Fem from Robert. I am going to try to get one plant to grow in my 2x4x5 tent. Might be a big job as they get upwards of 7 foot. Always loved a challenge! If it come out good, I may be able to get a hefty return for my troubles. The approximate yield for an Amnesia Fem is +/- 19 oz ! !
I figure with only 8 square feet vs 11, my yield should be around 14-16 oz. NOT BAD, hope I can make it happen.

Well good rid dens growman , unless you using halide lights , or planning to veg at least 6-8 weeks , that much stretch is sick in a 2x2x5 . Not saying it’s not possible , but hopefully you don’t wind burn it or light burn it trying to keep things under control . I say veg 6 weeks , main line manifold the plant 4 times and scrog it and that should be a great turn out . Keep in mine winter is approaching , so if you doing soil that should not be an issue , but hydro can be tricky one slight water temp swing …keep us posted so many can put it our diary of experiences ?

Well, what the heck, life is an adventure and ya never know what is gonna happen. I cannot go outside much (disabled) so I spend a lot of hands on time and studying. Some things however, must come from experience !

MacGuyverStoner, Latewood garrigan62 I need some advice for my Auto’s. I know it is not most of your area of specialty, but I think this may be a generaI grow question. I have downloaded 5 pictures of my Blueberry Auto plants. They appear to be healthy but not growing as fast as I hoped for. I am on Day 20 from seed

and they have not grown that much. This morning I noticed that the deep green I had earlier and the day before was fading. My particulars are on my grow Blueberry Autos - First Auto Grow but here is my soil:
Going with Black Gold soil, a premixed blend of peat and coco, Mycorrhorizae, Mag salts, some organic compost, dolomite lime, earthworm castings, expanded shale and soil inoculants with helpful bacteria. More than I initially planned on putting into the soil but am told that the quality is better on organic.

My water is pH’d to 6.5. My first feeding was 3 days ago in pH 6.5 water and 4 ml’s of Alaska fish fertilizer (5-1-1) in a gallon water. Label recommended 30ml/gallon.) This is my second time to water at all as the soil is really fluffy and moist.

I have a 300 watt (actual draw) LED at 24 inches with four 100 watt equivalent (23 Watts draw each) florescent spiral drop down lights.

It kind of looks like a nitrogen deficiency but I am unsure with Auto’s if they would use that much nitrogen. Should I proceed ahead with more nutes or wait and see? Don’t see any nutrient burns on the leaves. I want to get them going as they are time critical.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Jerry - TxGrowman
