FIM and HIT -LST Question

Hello
I feel my plant is doing well but I have anFIM question. I have FIM’d this plant many time among with tying each branch down. It is extremely bushy (I have thinned some for ventilation.

My question….does it hurt to FIM “multiple times” to get more and more branches??

Past grows I would only FIM once. But this time I’ve FIM’d at least 8 or 10 branches (not all at once).

My plant is only about 8” tall with the LST tying branches down. Will let it get taller know it will double + In height when I flip.

Am I ok with the multiple FIM’s?

Flip her and let her go boom :exploding_head:
Keep up with great airflow and you will be fine :green_heart::metal:t2:

Hi. Thanks for the reply

I’m not ready to flip yet. I have a ton more room to grow much taller. I know from past grows it will double in height and I still have a lot of room.

………My question was, does it hurt to FIM multiple times 10+?

FIM as many times as you want, but be sure to maintain good airflow within the plant’s canopy.

@MidwestGuy
Thanks
I have removed several lower unproductive leaves or branches. I’ll thin some more within the plant for air flow. Don’t it already and it grows back and fills back in.

Will thin out more and thanks for the response

I’m not a fan of multiple fims or toppings. IMO this produces smaller colas versus a few larger ones that get all the growth and attention/energy producing some nice large fruit :love_you_gesture:

Fimmed once and constantly cleaning underneath.

I’m with @OGIncognito on the fimming thing. More budsites = smaller colas.
But, smaller colas means a bit less risk of bud rot…

It all depends what you want to achieve.

@SausageMahoney I love your pot with the side door i seen where people grow potatoes in them you can take a peep at the root zone

I’m with you @OGIncognito I like to top my plants One time and spread those limbs out. Side branches will catch up and make a nice even canopy with lots of large colas.

Dang… why didn’t I think of that?

Yea i really like that @SausageMahoney im going to get some of those

There is a point of diminishing return. Once you feel you are just all small buds you went a tad far. I typically super fim anything i spread out to fill a tent. At least 1 per branch. 1 ping only.

Wanted to mention fim works best early. Need time to veg them and get good secondary branching.

Thanks for the feedback regarding fim’ing too much. I’m afraid I’ve gone too far.

Oh well, live and learn and great support in this site

Finish the plant strong and you will Still be rewarded with some nice Homegrown :green_heart::metal:t2:
I like to call it Failing Forward :sunglasses::cowboy_hat_face:

It won’t affect your overall harvest weight that much imo. It just won’t be distributed the same way. You’ll just end up with a lot of smaller buds instead of a few big colas…

Nah. I bet you are fine. Was a caution not an observation. Let her veg on out and you will be surprised. Let the fims heal and get started well before flip. I am assuming a photo. You will get up to 4 new tops each. If too thick spread out the branches gently and tie. Nothing extreme. Flip when ready. Go straight up. If the fims are good and ready each new cola will seek dominance. You will see a fairly smooth canopy of MULTIPLE strong colas. Here is the key. Early flip before good growth on the fims=many small tops. Good strong veg and mature fims…all new colas established and growing well=large colas all seeking dominance. The ability to pull 2lb harvests off of 1 photo is easy. Patience and proper veg to achieve that goal. I do it everytime I wall to wall a 3x3.
Sorry for the novella. I have a kush in my 3x3 now I seriously did HST to and nursed her back to health. Prime example that cannabis…especially healthy plants…can take a LOT and still go forward. If going to LST now is a pretty good time since need the veg time anyway.

Here is the Kush I mentioned. Every branch has a fim. Will veg another month and fill the 3x3.
