A beginner here on my first indoor grow. Im reading here and in my books feminized seeds require 12 hour light and 12 hour dark cycle. Any input on this, is this correct? Also is this consistent from seedling to harvest? I’m a serious newbie who wants to learn all I can. Best to ask the successful pro’s:wink:

Hey thanks for the great question! So, yes. On any photoperiod feminized cannabis plant 12/12 uninterrupted is needed to trigger flowering. However, you are correct to wonder on consistency! To start, you can do 36 hours of straight dark (24 hours for less stress risk) to start flowering. This allows far red receptors in the plant to confer to primary red receptors, basically speeding up the flip a week sooner. Now, once you get to the bud development week you can actually safely switch to 14/10 to maximize growth. Then at the last 3 days before harvest, deprive the plant of light for 60 hours and give 12 hours of light at the very end. This will help trichome production/building. Basically less stress on the trichome itself, won’t amber as quick. When the trichome ambers, it metabolizes into CBN which, while alluring in its own aspects play off CB2R so, kinda tames the overall psychedelic effect of thc. (Note the entourage effect also comes into play but CB2R activation definitely slows CB1R activity)

Before you flower you csn run 24 / 0 in seedling then switch to 18/6 when your lil bigger in full vegg promote root growth then you can do a dark period before u switch to 12 12 when your plant is as big asbu like it … Dark period might save you a day or 2 on transition …when far red phytochrome drop below a certsin lvl and red phytochrome swap out triggers flower dark period does knock off extra far red but its not a huge difference plant still needs to transition and during transition when you get the most vigours growth before it stalls out and has a. Structure to stack buds on and then it focuses on bud developement 7 to 12 weeks from then depending in strain… Dont hesitate to tag people with@ BEFORE somesname and it tags them and gives them a notification yo ask a question @Kmkrutsch like that
