Feed chart help?

I’m a new grower and am confused on how much nutrients to mix from my feed chart on each feed. For example, if I feed twice a week and my feed chart calls for 2 tsp per gallon that week. Since I’m feeding twice a week. Would I cut that in half and feed 1 tsp of nutrients each feeding so I end up with the total of the 2 tsp of nutrients that my feed chart called for in that week?

morning Thads2day…most growers don’t go full strength as per manufacturers recommendations… the type of soil you are using will determine what nutrients and when they are needed…start on the low side because you can always add more

@Thads2day. Welcome to the community.

Good advice, less is better as you learn. A known brand of nutes and I’m sure one of the grommies has that feeding chart saved and ready to post for ya.

Again, welcome aboard.

I don’t think I’m asking my question correctly. Regardless of the brand of nutrients. I’m trying to figure out, when a feeding chart is made up of weekly feeding instructions. And the instructions say week 1 or any week, does not matter for my question. In that said week it may call for 2tsp per gallon of a nutrient. If I was feeding just once that week. I would follow the 2 tsp per gallon. But if I’m going to feed twice that week. Should I feed 1 tsp per gallon the first feeding and another 1 tsp per gallon the next feeding. So in that said week I fed the complete 2tsp that was called for in a total week. I understand that most growers may only feed half of what a feed chart calls for each week. If that’s the case then the chart would call for 2 tsp per gallon in said week but I would cut in half and do 1 tsp per gallon in that week. Since I’m feeding twice in said week. Would I feed 1/2 tsp each of the feedings since I’m feeding twice in a week. Ending with the 1 tsp a week with the 2 combined feedings. I’m not sure if I’m asking the question correctly. These are just examples. I’m not sure when a feed chart says feed X amount of nutrients in a specific week, if that’s all the plant should receive that week regardless of how many times I feed. Should I do the math so I divide the x amount that week calls for by how many times I’m feeding to get my feed amount correct on each one of my feed days. I apologize if this makes no sense. I may be asking the question completely wrong.

Feed full strength for that week everytime you water…even if every day.

Each feeding mix in that week would be made at full strength for that individual week. Thank you for the help. I made that way more difficult than it needed to be. This is a new journey for me and I have so much to learn. Thanks again.

For instance, this is my feeding chart. I feed what it calls for each time i feed.

That’s what I was asking for. I was not sure if the feed chart meant that the measurements given in a week was all the plant should receive that week regardless of how many times it fed. I understand now, thank you for the help. Every time I feed I will use the same amount at every feeding in that week.

Pretty much yes. Just watch your runoff ppms and it will guide you on what your next session should consist of. You’re on the right track.

The chart is recommending a mixture for each week based on current stage of development of your plants. How often you feed the plants is going to vary based on type of growing media you’re using, environmental conditions, and state or condition of your plants. There are many variables that could casuse you to deviate from the chart. But as a baseline, use the mixture recommended for where you’re at when you’re feeding. Then look at suggested frequency of feeding for the media you’re using. Also make sure to test the concentration of your nutrient solution and runoff frequently to potentially identify issues before they cause issues for your plants.
