Fan Leaves dying

Just started flowering and I am having problems with my fan leaves dying. At first I would trim a handful each week and just considered it normal but now they are looking like the whole plant is dying. The entire leave is turning yellow nothing noted on the edges or veins. Plants look droopy overall.

The soil was quite dry today so I gave each plant 2 gal of water @ 6.8/500ppm. Runoff for each was 7ph/800-1000ppm.

Thinking they might be getting a little hungry I fed each one with an additional gallon of nutes and some calmag at 6.8ph and 2000ppm.

We have also had some unseasonably cold nights lately dipping down to the low/mid 50s. Going back up to 85-95day and 65-70night next week.

Anything else I am overlooking?

Your plants are hungry. Did you just jump from 500ppm to 2000ppm? FFOF has food for about 4-6 weeks (absolute max) my experience has been closer to 6.

500ppm is my normal tap water. I have been feeding every couple of weeks at about 1600-1800ppm and runoff has been more like 1200-1300. Today when the runoff came out at 800-900 I gave them some nutes mixed up at 2000ppm.

I’ll hazard a guess that the low temp excursion induced fall colors, particularly if the plant is a few weeks into flowering.

Hmm, that feels like decent runoff IMHO. You want your runoff to be lower than what you’re putting in. If it goes the other way you’ve got mineral salt build up. How much sun they getting each day?

Indirect until about 930am then full sun until dusk.

Having had problems with nute burn in the past from FF I was trying to go straight ph’d water until runoff came down around 900ppm then I feed again.

After some water, nutes and a nice 65 degree night they are noticeably less droopy today. Well see if any of the leaves are able to green back up but :crossed_fingers:t2:Were onthe right path with these.

This is my first outdoor photo grow, learning to work with the changing environment! Excoted by the size of these plants, they would never fit in my tent!

Its also normal to have yellowing leaves during flower as the plant transfers the nitrogen to the buds. I just went through this with mine. It will be fine…

Could you please tell me how much big bloom, tiger bloom, and big grow you put to how much water to reach 2000 ppm.
I know you just fed this and it is not the present problem but could be important with the cure.

Also how often do the pots dry out. You don’t have what appears to be over watering in fact maybe a little underwatering. It will though help with how to feed.

I recently ran out of big bloom I either need to order more or find a suitable replacement- trying to use up all the FF nutes and try something different next time.

To answer your questions; most recently I fed 10-12ml of Tiger Bloom, 10-12ml of Grow Big, 1/4 tsp of Beasty Blooms, approx 10ml calmag (probably a little too much) plus the 500ppm water came out to 1900-2000ppm in each of the (3) gallons- fed one gal per 15gal pot after watering.

The pots are outdoors and we have had a record wet summer. So they have received a bit of natural rain water every 2-3 days and I supplement with ph’d tap water, (1-2) gal per pot every week or so, when the soil starts to dry out.

Having considered this for a few days now and seeing how they responded to a good water/feeding I think I have been relying too much on the rain water which may not actually be soaking into the soil but just wetting the first inch or so then evaporating off in the sun.
