Epsom salt. I was curious and I have read some stuff here about it. I would just like to know if anyone uses it. And how do you use it.
Non scented … all I know I dont use Epsom I did one wine and my plants withered up like over night… acted like saltwater doesn’t human dryer em out all curled up leaves … crazy … never did it again epsom salt is magnesium sulfate magnesium and sulfur and eggshells for calcium some one said dolomite lime is a calcium supplement but also a ph alkaline for soil and sulfur as an acidifier so be aware of ph when ever watering
None scented I got a big bag from Amazon because it was sold out locally. I use 1tsp each time I water or feed with nectar. I use a little over recommended each time I water with Jack’s because I was having some deficiencies start
That is what I was worried about. I’m not having problems. I’m worried. Don’t want any. I’m 23 days into following and I cleaned them up last night. I’m worried that I didn’t leave enough on the bottom so I could see if I was going to have a problem in the future.
I read a lot of good things about Jack’s. I would really like to know how you guys use it.
I try and use organic with other products. I do believe it honeyed the soil to much. I’ll be watering the next few days so that will work it’s way though.
I’m not yet. I played around with some seeds that I got back late in the summer . It was a bad strain the genetics were bad. I actually like the way it grew I had no problems at all except for seeds. I was climbing him straight in tapwater no problems whatsoever. I got two different strains right now that I’m worried about. Not really sure the names 100%. I have made colognes off of them they look good the roots are coming through. There’s a few more things I need to get as equipment.
I would use it once a week to supplement more magnesium as my LEDs make the plants magnesium hungry. Now using jacks nutrients it’s part of the formula so it’s used every time I feed. My cvs and Walgreens have 6lb bags for like $6
These are my first two plants with Jack’s. So far, other than watering everyday, it is going really well.
100% agreed, You couldn’t have said it better. I’m on my first run with jacks and coco, and I’m watering everyday.
I use jacks 321 in my dwc … works great…
I’m changing next run to jacks
I would recommend Jack’s to ppl after they have successfully grown with something else if they like simplicity and understand what deficiencies look like being that calcium and magnesium aren’t so abundant ecslecially with higher power lights someone not aware of what’s happening would have there head spinning with Jack’s in some cases I see alot of ppl with slight issue here or there with just the 1 2 3
Lol Im one of those people
I can tell by the way ppl are explaining there experience with Jack’s… also with my lil bit of experience with different manufacturers when I first began I kept needing to acquire this then that then these the those… its was always something I wanted to add or improve … I used a simple form of grow and bloom floranova by general hydroponics … it’s got everything mj would need but it still was showing deficiencies. Just like Jack’s…had to get cal mag , silica, carb supplement , bloom boosters and it just leads me to believe there can’t be a 1 2 3 and done for all things happy …also using full lines and trying to leave out lil stuff that dont seem nessecarry changes outcome cuz I ran all these different nutes on the same couple strains for several trys and I’ve concluded for my growing I like multiple bottles to be able to tweak regime that’s me tho
Huh? One of the three parts is calcium nitrate, and another is magnesium sulfate. Both are plenty abundant. More importantly it is super easy to look at each bag and decipher which/if any you may need a little more or less of. Not like any of the super proprietary lines that require a dozen bottles or anything.
I would also say that when issues like that are identified, it’s often from frequency of feeding not necessarily the makeup of solution.
I agree with @dbrn32 I could have run only the 3-2-1 and been fine. I chose to add Tribus the plants did not ask for it to be added. I did bump my epsom salt a little because the plants showed a tiny mag def because of my light abuse.
Isn’t the epsom # 4 of the 123 …and u can’t up magnesium without upping sulfur and u can’t up calcium without upping nitrogen it’s just not tweekable being 3 part unless alternate source of calmag… I like my cal mag as a watering day that’s what I’m used to and not saying it dosent work but it seems limited when trying to push plants and I know when I upped my lights I wasent aware that food was that much on a sliding scale and luckily my new nutes were very forgiving and I didn’t have deficiencies luckily I have noticed ppl complain about more then love it on all boxes checked lvl … like I said that’s me tho some ppl like simple not saying it dosent work but it dosent seem like the best to me
Thanks for your help
Thanks for the information. The plants look great. I use calcium potassium and a bunch other stuff that’s organic. I do use the trio. The main problem that I have had is not prioritizing what I needed. The problem I noticed was in my clones. I grew with hard water for years. Ph for indica strains are a little more sensitive than sativa. I’m seeing the difference. The ph meter helped me with the clones. @Hellraiser has good advice. Thanks @Breezy @Bubblehead @BobbyDigital @fano_man thanks
