Check the ratings of connector in comparison to the driver output specs. Hard to tell if plug insulation failed, the lug was loose, or maybe insulation was stripped too far.
Only markings I see are the UL stamp and PG9? I have again contacted Mars and the rep stated that the connectors have been upgraded to a material that can withstand a higher current. So I’m assuming they figured out these were crap. They’re sending out a new connector.
For now I have them together with wire nuts
Pg stands for panzergwind (spelling?) It’s the type of threads used and 9 is size designator of the coupling. Neither have anything to do with the current or voltage ratings.
They are usually about $5 on Amazon. May be worth looking into one that ratings exceed operational conditions just for peace of mind.
Learn something new everyday! Thanks @dbrn32 you always point me in the right direction. O will definitely get a connector that is rated accordingly
Oh man did u end up figuring out the issue broski. Hopefully if u got a new driver they sent u the inventor ica driver which is supposed to be a bit more superior than the meabwell drivers are. Inventronics is what hlg is switching to fo4 a descent number of their lights as they found that the meabwell we’re not standing up to the performance of some of the lights. The diablos and anything that has the newer type boards. Hopefully it was a simple fix and got done quick for ya.
Is this something that u have to put together or did it come already assembled. If u put on prolly should for future runs and connects use some solder on the wires so they won’t fray and a straggly piece end up touching another wire and causing this issue. Glad it was something simple for u. U really don’t even need that plug box if u r not in any harsh environments.
