Electric Sky 300 LED

Has anyone here tried the electric sky 300 LED grow light. They get great reviews but they seem a little on the expensive side. I’m a newb at this and was just doing a little research. Any help would be appreciated.

I’m not.familiar with it. Check it the horticultural lighting group HLG. They make very good quantum board LEDs

You can do a four QB132 V2 on an HLG-240H-C1750A driver DIY project for less than $250. The V2 QB XL kit @SlowOldGuy would be awesome too.

It’s not a bad light, just a little expensive.

@dbrn32 or any other led pros,

I understand this is an old thread but hoping someone can point me in the right direction on a driver replacement model alternative…

I purchased an es 300 v3 in early 2021 and all was well with until early this year when i noticed one side of the light went out towards the end of the grow. The other side still worked fine.

Running some voltage tests from the first connector of the first board at the dead side, the first board where the wiring connects from the driver showed no issues with connectivity through the series wiring to all boards on the dead side.

Swapped wiring with the other driver to this side of the light and it powered up the boards on the dead side.

The drivers in this light are:
Moso x6 200m041

Googling this model shows very limited info with purchasing a replacement. Alibaba has a couple of hits but hoping to find a retailer in the US so shipping is faster.

This is when I realized the green sunshine co went out of business and so did all support with this light.

Any suggestions for websites that may carry this driver or an alternate driver model to use?

Im not ready to part ways with this light due to the initial investment made so any helped would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Meanwell makes great drivers and many of their models are sold on Amazon. I’m certain that Dbrn can help you select the model that is appropriate for your light.

I don’t know if meanwell makes an exact replacement replacement for that. I say so because of the voltage range. Even the 240 watt hlg series cv with 42v output is only something like 5.7 amps.

Ok, are there any meanwell or other driver models that you could recommend as a suitable replacement? Or should I just try to go the alibaba route and replace with exact model?

I think the most preferable option would be to locate exact replacement. Otherwise you’re likely to have half of your light with more or less light output than the other.

I hope you find 1. Great lights. I have 8 of them myself. I would spend for exact replacement if can. The diodes are rated for 80k hours.

If you can’t find an exact replacement, maybe swapping out both drivers with something close would be an option. That way, the light would still be even on both sides.

Just a thought. The new drivers can be flashed. HLG flashed last 1 i bought to fit the boards i had from them. The new stuff is tuneable for voltage and amperage requirements. A little advanced but an option to look at. NOT meanwell. Invertronics or something like that. Graysin now owns that HLG light when i went to all ES300.

I found the exact drivers through alibaba but Ive never used this site (I dont really trust any software that comes out of China) and dealt with a sales rep for a 3rd party company selling them.
I have fraud protection on all my cards but the transaction just seems a little weird since it was all discussed in chat and then an alibaba link which had what appeared to be a legit url) was sent to me. The order shows in the alibaba app too. Lol.

Is that typical?

How long should I expect that slow boat from China to arrive via fedex and get through customs? 3-4Weeks

Thanks for all the input guys

I was curious about this, what would be suitable replacement boards when it was time?

Yeah, Alibaba has a strange process for ordering, but I did get something from them once. I remember thinking the way it worked was odd, but I got the item and everything was fine. I think it took close to a month, but it all depends on luck, and how long your items sit in the shipping containers.
