Ebb and flow system

@Myfriendis410 @Jarlax @Auto11 @MidwestGuy @OGIncognito @ThatHydroCouple
I can’t remember who does ebb and flow and who doesn’t, so if I tagged you and you don’t, I apologize.
I’m setting up my ebb and flow, hoping on getting suggestions for the medium, as now in my DWC I use clay pebbles, but they don’t hold moisture long. If there is a better medium, then I’m listening.
Also timing on flood and drain, how often to start with, then I can adjust as needed by observing the plants, and asking advice :joy::joy:.
I also have 12 in DWC now, getting ready to flip them. They are in 8” net lids, can I put them on top of the square ebb and flow buckets, with the root just hanging down, or would the roots dry out to fast? There is no way to get them out of the net lids until harvest.

I dont have an ebb and flow, but i think @CooterJuice does some auto pots and drain to waste in coco that might be simular in feed timing. I think ebb and flow you actually want a grow medium that doesnt hold water, but as i said i run a RDWC, so no expirence with that grow method. I also dont see why you cant transplant them like your thinking. Should be ok just plainly thinking if the feed timer is correct

I think the feeding intervals would depend on the medium your using, as some hold moisture longer then others. I’m thinking since I have clay pebbles, I might use that, just have to figure out the feeding so they don’t dry out too fast.

I totally agree with that logic. My buddy did ebb and flow like 10 years ago. I remember him saying the algae was a challenge. Basically had a big tilted tray and grew only a bunch main tops with a ton of small plants.

No help on the EBB Growmie, I think @Joshmcginnis28 does??

Dwc buckets here… but ebb and flow rockwool I seen a lot of people use

Rdwc here. Rockwool would be my guess.
