well RDWC means recirculating so you need a pump and possibly a chiller… is this what you are looking for…

Ooh so you only use one side at a time. Oh! Inspection port! Duh!

Any ideas why all the RDWC setups use 2” pipe but the aircubes only use 3/4? I believe they are ebb and flow.
Anyone have any preferences between the two?
I’m having a hard time justifying the much larger pumps and therefore energy consumption with these compared to the aircube

I’m using DWC and can say RDWC uses 2in pipe due to the volume of water it needs to move to keep the water between 65-70F .

RDWC keep steady water lvl and has to be circulated to keep temps, air cube is ebb and flow , fill to empty, water is not circulated and the oxygen is delivered to the roots via as the water lvl drops in air cube.

Aaah ok, that’s why air cube is just the one pump+chiller and its pump second to the res.

A a 5x8 room in a trailer is being built. Changing things a bit..Thinking 6-12x12” -8gallon square buckets. Rdwc, 40 gal res. 90gal chiller. Debating on a filter, I’d rather not. I want to plug in as little as possible. Does running for an hour every four hours sound reasonable for the circulating pump? Then top drop can run 15 minutes every hour. Air pump with 4” disks run all day.
I just need to get the proper gph for the pumps. I’d rather upsize with variable speed

What’s everyone’s opinion on Vivosuns controller and lights?
