I guess it all comes with learning. I have to quit being so hard on my self and just keep the girls happy and let them communicate to me. I know this is off topic but I saw you had surgery in your journal. How is your recovery going? I work as an EMT so I see all kinds of crazy things. (Shh don’t tell anyone I’m on here)
No worries nothing of topic in your journal doing better than I’d have thought having Crone’s… I’ve had a hell of a year healthwise. Tore my retina and had emergency laser eye surgery including a shot in the eye with a needle! Ripped my MCL avoided surgery for that. Fixed a hernia five weeks before getting colon resectioning. But here it is from yesterday. I had umbilical hernia repair twice this scar cuts down to those and Y at bottom. Thankfully my Dr gave me a pain pump in hospital. But they wouldn’t give me omprazole I’ve been on it years, I was dying from heart BURN it was worse almost than the pain. Interestingly as I recall this Dilaudid doesn’t affect heartburn pain. LOL
updated @willtheripperDamn! That’s a lot in a short amount of time man, I’m glad to hear you’re doing better and looks like your incision is healing nicely. Heart burn is no joke, I’ve had it mildly from eating un healthy at times and it was awful lol. Be careful with that Hydro (dilaudid) cause I’ve had to shoot narcan up plenty of people’s noses lol but I’m sure you will be fine. Here’s to a great year of health in 2021!
Oh I only had that in hospital it was oxy after surgery. But I’m through that point weeks ago. No opiates for me in staying green LOL
I don’t use GH anymore, which is why I said @neofirebird had you. I use Jack’s now and love it.
I should have said the hernia surgeon was a pain in the butt about pain meds they did that outpatient… I walked sorta out after that operation. So I talked to correctal Dr about pain management he was much better about the whole thing - just need to get past the first week to ten days.
I’m using GH just as a starter, I figured it would be fool proof and a good starter but as you can see. I’m a pretty big fool
It’s not marijuana but here’s one of my Cayenne pepper plants as she’s nearing her end as winter approaches. She’s still producing but definitely gave me a huge yield over the summer. I do these and other vegetables on soil during the spring and summer. Never tried cold crops but I’m thinking of trying a separate DWC grow with a pepper plant.
I always had trouble with the GH line.
That kind of answers the question I was going to ask. Different nutrients effect different strains and phenotypes differently?
I have grown several plants using the GH trio plus supplements. It is a decent mineral based nutrient. Cannabis specific nutrients would be better but you can still grow great weed using GH It is not as PH stable as others in Hydro. Make sure your pen is calibrated for sure. You may need to watch them closely.
Advanced Nutrients made my Hydroponic life much easier…
I actually just recalibrated my pen a couple nights but I think it’s malfunctioning, it’s constantly fluctuating between numbers until I actually place it in some water. Maybe I have some excess water stuck in here, I always rinse it and dry it with a soft towel so I’m not really sure. I’m going to order a new one and test that theory
I don’t have any trouble difference in water? IDK works for NASA. But I’m open minded if AN are more pH stable that’s of interest to me.
I don’t use AN. I use Jack’s. Same in veg and flower, except first 21days of flower. Much, much cheaper, ph stable, and plants love it. I do full strength start to finish. I get parts A & B in 25lb bags. Epsom salts at the dollar store.

Can any of you recommend me a quality and accurate pH meter? I don’t want to break the bank but I also don’t want buy another $10 one (unless it’s good) as I’m having issues with mine and I think my struggles are coming from inaccurate readings.
I can’t even get accurate readings in the calibrating solutions
Unless you pay above $60ish you won’t get one that is quality. An affordable one that you can calibrate will work fine, just don’t expect it to last years. Mine died just now too, so I’ve been looking. Just haven’t looked real hard yet.
I don’t really mind so much on spending money for quality, since I know it will definitely get the job done. I’m a bit disappointed in the one I purchased
(Pancellent Water Quality Test Meter TDS PH 2 in 1 Set)
The ppm meter seems fine and accurate but the pH is just out of wack. I haven’t even had it 6 months and just started using it within the last 3-4 weeks as I finally started my grow.
Did it come with calibration powders? I was looking too earlier, I’m using two calibrated at same time .1 off…
Thoughts on thishttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ENFOIQE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_5zDTFbK7B5TT2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Cost more than 50. model but that model is only .1 accurate… This model is .01 accurate with the extra??
Yeah it came with two sets of calibration powder. After calibrating it the first time, it was pretty accurate (to my knowledge) for the first week or so then the numbers just kept fluctuating, it was even giving readings when not in water.
I was actually just looking at that pH meter! It seems pretty good. I was debating between the $50 and $80 one
