DWC Autoflower OG Kush

Hello
Im fairly new to growing and im now at my 2nd growth. My first ever grow was almost a year ago and it went very well. Not the biggest buds but i sure got high.

I got some questions but not sure where to start so i was thinking i could start with posting a picture of the plant and see if it looks normal for a soon to be 3 weeks old plant?

Humidity 30-35% Air temp 23-25c Water temp 19c

(First true leafs got pretty nasty, and i think it came from a uneven humidity level. After i dropped the extra humidity im now at 30-35% After this everything seemed to go smooth. I may have gone alitle hardcore with nutes abit early becouse Ive been noticing some brown tips on some of the new leafs but i recently changed water and lowered the nutes. Almost at 300ppm now hoping it will prevent it from spreading.)

Is your ater level below the net cup bottom? Did you use rockwool for your seedling? Do you have enough air pumping through the water? The first few set of leaves are tender and can be influence easily by microbes. The plants look good. At this stage they will double weekly. If you see a spread of the blemishes you should be come more concerned, but since it’s only 1 you should be ok. 300PPM is about 1/4 strength. Temp 66F. All looks good.

Thank you!

Im growing in rockwool.
I started with the water level covering about 0.4 inches above the netpot (covering the rocks, not directly on rockwool)
Now that the roots has started to pop ive lowered the water level about 0.4 inches under the net pot.
Do you recommend lowering more ?

When it comes to the airflow in water im not sure how to explain. Hmm… 3.4 gallons, 63gallons/hour pump. I’ll post a picture of the airstone.

You are good with air. Your rockwool is likely waterlogged so lowering a bit more will allow it to dry out. You probably are growing some nasties in the wool but if you allow it to dry out your roots and stems will appreciate it. Your roots will reach for the water so don’t worry if they aren’t fully immersed. You are in good shape.

By the way, for some reason my autos in DWC took a long time to begin flowering (11 weeks). Be patient with the grow because I got 5.5 ft bushes that yeilded quite well.

What are you using for lighting? You should expect ~1g/Watt at the wall. Some have found the burple lighting to be less than adequate for intensity and power, but you will yield smokeable bud.

2" below the net pots is ideal once the roots reach the liquid. 1 to 2" is your range (2.5 to 5 cm). This will prevent stem rot and damping off issues.

I’m guessing you are in Aus? Do you have access to products like Hydroguard? You are going to either need to chill your water or run beneficial microbes or both. You do not want pythium to start on your roots. If your water temps are above 21C then watch them closely.

Im from Norway:)

I dont have hydroguard. And for the water, i rely on the cold floor to keep it in temp range :frowning:

If you can keep your liquid below 21C you won’t have any trouble. Lots of oxygen and when you do your nutrient changes you can spray down your roots and bucket with 50/50 solution of hydrogen peroxide and distilled water. It kills nasties without hurting the plant. Great stuff; I buy it by the case lol.

My brother spent time in Norway and said it’s the most beautiful place on Earth. I am on the West Coast of California.

I can finally reply after alitle time out:)

Im glad your brother enjoyed it  Norway is beautiful indeed, but quite boring when it comes to the green fun :stuck_out_tongue:

So i searched for the hydrogen peroxide here in Norway and it seems like i can only get it from the pharmacys and its like 3% strenght. Found a 500ml bottle 3% for around 25dollars. Would that be an option ?

I also messaged this grow site and asked for any root cleaner, they replied They could recommend Voodoo juice or A.R.T.S wortelrot / Aptus system clean

Thoughts ?

I’m thinking I ought to import some peroxide to Norway! It’s $.84/quart here. Surely there are better options. I certainly wouldn’t pay that for 3%. 30% yes.

That’s $25 American? 25 Norwegian Krone is about $2.92. Still ridiculously high. Odd.

26,23$ to be exact. Greedy bastards :stuck_out_tongue:

Question;

My tap water comes out at 90ppm. Am i good or should i add some calmag before nutes at next waterchange you reckon ?
Got a bottle with ‘Sensi calmag extra’ just in case.

I would add some. What’s in the water may not be usable to the plant.

I agree, you probably don’t need a lot though. Couple ml per gallon should do.

Is it safe to pour it in my current mix ? And if im around 300ppm now with nutes, having in mind its around 3weeks old, is it some ppm range i shouldnt exceed after adding calmag?
