So my concerns are mainly about air exchange to my drying flowers. I built a dry box that would work off the air exchange within my tent via 6" ducting. When my 2×4 tent is puffed out from an excess of intake air, the box with my hanging flowers would recieve a small amount of airflow venting out small holes. I’m going for at least a 10 day dry with a dry trim. The thing is, this would be a slow trickle of oxygen-rich air due to the still blooming plant left in my tent. Would that tend to degrade the quality of the drying flowers? And am I using enough vent holes? Also, I do have an ac infinity humifier to control humidity accurately.
It would promote accelerated oxidation of THC into CBN. CBN is the sleepy, couch lock cannabinoid. If that is what you want, then go for it.
Nope. Plan b. I can just use a small fan and a humidifier.
I would worry less about the oxygen and more about the heat. I shoot for 60F for drying.
Yeah shouldn’t be too difficult if I abandon the whole exhaust air idea. I have central ac with vents coming from the floor. The exchange air would need to come frome a desk fan because it seems no duct fan in the world can run softly enough to give me a 10 day dry.
Very little air is needed during dry. Temp and humidity are the targets. Any airflow should be mild and not directly on the plants. As mentioned oxygen is a non starter. If finding too low humidity hanging untrimmed will protect the flowers and kick humidity up. I do both long and slow hanging and fast with my wedryer. I myself come down at 68-70% and bag sweat a day or 3 depending. Hanging untrimmed can smell like hay. Dont stress it. Once cleaned up and jarred it will come. A humidifier I feel is a bad idea in a dry room. Best way to mold them is give them humidity.
In AZ, a dehumidifier is rarely required. Its in the 15-25rh range on average.
Low here also all year. Semi arid.
