Is there a specific reason for hanging plants upside down to dry? Or is trimming the buds off the stems and putting them on one of those “Drying Rack Plant Hanging Mesh Dry Net” things ok? Pro’s and Con’S Thanks for the help!

Dude you are in the right place. @Nicky and @Breezy are just two of the amazing people on here that will answer all your questions or at least point u in the right direction. Me last summer I hung mine in the garage. Not sure of the reasoning why we hang it tho. I have now gotten one of those 5 layered drying bags with a fan and carbon filter onto. Can’t wait to use. Got it for Xmas still in the bag.

Hanging them upside down draws the remaining moisture from the stem into the buds which helps slow down the drying process. I’ve dried by hanging and trimming and drying on a rack. Haven’t really noticed a difference in either drying technique.

I know alot of people use there tents for drying to control the temperature and humidity. I used a hanging rack like you described for my first grow. Hung it in a spare bedroom with the ceiling fan on. With the humidity at the time it took between seven to ten days. I really liked the way it worked so I’ll keep using it.

Thanks for the input! I’m’ only asking because even though I have the space to hangs a few plants upside down to dry it seems that it might be easer to just trim the buds off the stems and put them on a drying rack if you maintain the proper humidity.
@Turbonelson I’ve heard of that too. I was thinking of trying that method this time. Wet trim and let dry

If you do go that route, trim them fully as you would dry trimming a hanging plant. You don’t want them laying on wet plant material that can cause mold.

That’s the way I did it. Wet trim, spread out the buds and keep checking the stems for dryness. I would have to do some looking back to see what humidity is good but it worked good. I’m not positive, I’m sure some more experienced growers would know but I think it helped retain the keif also. Maybe because of wet trimming I think.

@Turbonelson brings up a good point. When drying on racks, keep longer stems on the buds so you have a gauge.

This is sweet. Twice now I have ordered bud from an app and twice now I found seeds. Nice and dark and round. Last time I ordered some jack frost and got two seeds. This time I ordered some jet fuel and so far got 3 seeds again nice and dark and plump. Gonna put them out back this summer. Wish I knew if they came from an autoflower or not.

Haha I wish I could be home. I work for a contract paramedic service that serves oil and gas companies but luckily my work currently is only 2hr from home.
I live at site for 2 weeks at a time and home for 5 1/2 days.
Again if I can’t chill something went really wrong haha
