Started germinating seeds yesterday, all autos:
2 ILGM white widow
2 Northern Lights CBD
3 Big Devil from Greybeard
Hoping to grow 6 in my 2x4 tent (it’ll be crowded for sure). I’ve got two 150 watt HLG patriot lights, fans inside for air flow and a 6” Inkbird fan for exhaust.
I’m also using two different organic soils, Roots Organic Lush and SoHum super soil, and using sub-irrigated planters (SIPs). I’ve got roots organic terp teas for veg and bloom that I’ll use on the lush, the sohum is a water only super soil and will only get nutes if I see deficiencies.
I’m hoping the organic soils and SIPs will make my life easier…we’ll see
Watching Doc. Gonna get my organic grow going here just as soon as I can so I’m watching intently. Really excited to see how those SIP’s go. Looking forward to your grow!!!
I got the growtech kits, so they’ll be in 5 gal buckets. I had 6 autos in my tent last year, had to supercrop one of them, it was tight for sure. What’s your tent size and how many do you run? I haven’t gotten the pump yet but I probably will.
Great, you’ll have a better feel for things once they get going then.
2x4…never been able to get more than three real adults at one time yet (not for lack of trying), and I butcher these days. Here’s a few at ~40 days above soil, and I was already taking branches and training for airflow, etc.:
I hate being a consumer unnecessarily, but I think it helps prevent stagnation of the reservoirs, especially during the first few weeks; and the roots seem to love it based on cutting out airstones at harvest:
I don’t think the 3 big devil seeds will germinate, none of the previous ones did, maybe that’ll be good. I’ve had good luck with the ILGM white widows germinating. This will be my first run with the Northern lights CBD, I’m looking forward to seeing how that grows, hopefully they get out of the ground. I’d like to have at least 4 growing this round, I have a gorilla glue auto I can drop too.
I’m soooo excited for this run!
Have you used the roots terp tea’s before? I bought them for my dad and he was mildly successful with them. I felt like aerating the solution helped it dissolve significantly better than stirring alone. He used with some hi-brix molasses and ferti fulvic plus. I stopped by and checked on his plants every week or two, felt like they could have used a little more than what he was giving. If I were to use would probably incorporate a few top dressings of something like the uprising bags or equivalent.
I don’t really buy or use any products besides soil…the whole point in growing plants in organic soil only was to keep things as simple and natural as possible, and not be a consumer uncessarily.
Did I accidentally respond to you there? Op has that they purchased the roots terp teas and I wasn’t sure if this is the first experience with them or not.
So far 1 Northern Lights CBD and 1 Gorilla Glue (still don’t think the big devils will germ so I dropped a GG) have poked through. This is one of the most frustrating times for me, waiting for the seedlings to come out. I usually use the paper towel method to germinate, sometimes drop in a shot glass of water, seem to have equal success with both.
How long do people wait before putting in soil? When the taproot is about 1/8” or so? Seems like my taproots always stagnate after initial germ, maybe my temps are too low (75ish)?
Gonna fill up the grobuckets today too, they won’t go in just yet, I’ll keep them in solo cups for a couple weeks. The SoHum is too hot for seedlings so I’ll have some fox farm happy frog around the root ball when they go in the SoHum.
I had some seeds from my last run of purple punch and red hot cookies. Never found any pollen sacs or nanners so not sure where the pollen came from. Most of the seeds were on only a couple buds so it was fairly localized. I think I’ll drop some of those outside late spring and see what happens. Those were both photos, although I think the pollen may have come from another bud in my stash that had nanners, that was an auto, so it’s a bit of a crapshoot on what comes up, bet hey, free seeds!
