I’m gettin a little bit ahead of myself, but I’m always looking ahead to the next grow. It will be 1 Ak47 auto and 4 white widow autos. The pots will be 2 DWC 5 gallon buckets, 2 cloth 4 gallon pots, and 1 cloth pot 3 gallon. They will be in the tent (4x4x6’)
I will be using Fox Farm trio (hydro formula) for the buckets. I will be using rapid rooters…i am also gonna be adding in perlite to help with drainage. I am looking looking at using 1 of these types or soil or soilless mediums: Fox Farm Ocean Forest, Promix with mycorrhizae and biofungicide, Fox Farm Happy Frog, or Black Gold natural and organic potting soil plus fertalizer. Now has anyone had any experience with these. I know that the FFOF can be a little too hot for smaller/younger plants. Any advice or ideas for this grow. All input is appreciated. Thanks in advance. This will be in a couple months or so, just trying to get everything squared away.
Diesel
That was my first grow at ILGM brother. Except I had fems instead of auto. Love both of them but AK-47 was great for my pain. Fun plants to grow. Keep teh AK in Cal/Mag and it should do well. Mine ate cal/mag like crazy but what a great high and rock hard nugs ! Good luck brother. How is the weather up there. We were cool and sunny. About 180 degrees from our bretheran in the northeast ! Some of my friends that I ride with are planning on a ride up to OK city this spring. Might be up in your part of the country !
Haha well let me know brother, it was chilly this mornin but it was an alight day. I need to mow my yard
I’m going to do a ww auto next and plan on getting a 5 gal fabric pot and put a solo cup with seedling soil with the bottom cut out and remove the cup (pull it out) when the seedling is old enough. Same pot basically
Yeah, that’s what I do when I use solo cups
You’re not the only one thinking ahead @Hawkeye_diesel . My new seeds are getting reshipped from ilgm and I have sour diesel, cheese, and great white shark coming. I will have my own dispensary!!!
Just got my Sharks Breathe seed and can’t wait to grow it! It’s a cross of Great White Shark x Lambs Bread!
Too funny. You’re mowing down there and we’re snow blowing up here!
My AK-47 Fem is one of the best looking of the DownEast 12. Never grown WW but I remember some kids in a jam band I knew before I moved to Maine grew some in a tent in their studio that was the envy of all their friends. They claimed they did so well because of the music.
I totally get the anticipation and getting ahead of your self too. I’m tempted to pick up some other strains to start for this grow since there’s still plenty of time to order them from ILGM and get them going inside before the need to be in the ground in mid May.
Alright may have figured out the soil. I’m thinkin of doin a comparison between Fox Farms Ocean Forest and the Fox Farm Happy Frog. It would be 1 plant in each without nutrients to get a good side by side comparison l. What do y’all think?
It’s a great idea and may serve as a control subject for other people unsure of which way to go. I know I’ll be following the results.
Exactly the idea I was going for brother. I see a lot of growers choosing wither of those soils and white widow, so if I can help take the guess work out, I might as well.
I guess I need to buy some other seeds. I’m like the only person on here who’s never tried growing WW.
I’m loyal to my ProMix BX, but I make a mix of our own aged compost, topsoil from the garden, and the ProMix BX in the holes when they go in the ground. I’m hoping the winter rye doesn’t cause nitrogen burn once I till it under.
Update on the grow direcrion.
I’ll be conducting an experiment. I will be taking 2 white widow autos, Both will be placed in a solo cup with jiffy seed starting then I will place one in a 5 gallon smart pot fill it with FFOF and the other will be placed in a 5 gallon smart pot fill with FFHF. Neither will be given nutrients to see how well the soil does and provide growers a base for both soils for them to decide.
@latewood, @Majiktoker, @garrigan62, @Willd, @bob31, @Hogmaster and if anyone else has interest let me know
I’ve had mine in the ffof since transplant and haven’t had to add anything but I think my kushykush has a calcium magnesium deficiency but it could be my pH runoff which was 6.6 going in and 6.0 coming out. So my only advice is stay on top of that, but I’ll definitely be following
Thanks for the heads up
No problem at all!!!
So along with the soil experiment I’m gonna try an attempt some lst on 1 or 2 of them depending on how daring I feel. Just to see the difference between no training and some light lst.
So it’ll be done with 6 3 gallon cloth pots. I’m goin to be using fox farms ocean forest and happy frog. 1 white widow in one soil and one in the other. It’ll be 5 White Widows and 1 AK47 auto. They’ll be started in rapid rooters and surrounding them will be jiffy natural and orgsnic seed starting mix, then into the soil as to not have to transplant the autos. I will.possibky top and or fim one of each, haven’t decided on it yet.
So some.other planys will receive additional nutrients and some will not receive them to also show the different between adding and not adding nutrients
