I read a lot of reviews on their stuff in my search for parts over the last couple months. It’s a mixed bag on reviews. I’d say buy at your own risk but look anything you buy over really well in case it has any problems. I power and vivosun both seem to be about the same when it came to the reviews.
The ipower stuff seems to be fine. I would just warn about trying to piece together an indoor grow with a big hps light.
$300 up to $500 eh??? Shoot!!! But they are the coolest and use the least amount of electricity. Right???
He meantioned $300 to $400 for I wanna do, for leds… Kinda a lot more than what i was hopin for…, for me at first, but I am thinkin about it now… Wonder how much I would save on electricty compared to these hid/cmh lights i have been lookin at…, and maybe i could just grow in that closet for awhile and get the tent… fan, filter… in awhile, end of the month or next month… lol
Price depends a lot on space. How big of an indoor grow do you plan on running?
Just the 3 to 5 plants, but maybe not trying to veg them real long, so they are not that big… Prob. 4 plants, like I was saying… would be best. But was thinking of getting a bigger tent, in case I wanna go bigger in the future, then I could use the same tent, and then just get or add another light… Does that sound like a good Idea???
Sure! Could you do some assembly? The horticulture lighting group xw-260 kit is pretty ideal for a 3x3. They’re available assembled from growerslights for an additional fee. I would check those out.
Ok… I was lookin at the other hid lights u had mentioned… Ceramic something or others… Not the hps ones anymore… thanks!!!
Ok, I will check those out next then… thanks!!! Someone said they were good!!! She did say they were “spendy though”. I can do some assembly if I have real good instructions, because i know nothing about grow lights…!!! lol Would hate to screw it up!!! lol
Cermamic metal halide. Also called lec. Those are good too.
Are they pretty cool, the hid/cmh ones? I power does make those too, but someone said they were no good… Those specific lights made by I Power, I mean… There are a lot of those cmh’s on Amazon… U know a good brand for cmh’s for a 3’ x 3’ grow by chance?
Are they a lot hotter than led? Led is the coolest, I think? Right? rather not have a dryer vent sticking out of a bedroom, if I can avoid it…! Thanks again for all the help u guys!!!
In most cases leds will run your lowest canopy temp, then cmh, then hps will be warmest. There’s always exceptions, but that’s how it generally works out.
The HLG 260 is a q.b. then?
Absolutely
While discussing lighting, you mentioned this a few times. Just know that a closet has no ventilation - so climate control will be a bear. I did one small plant in a big walk-in closed, so there was enough room that it wasn’t a problem, just a fan and an open door as needed.
If you are going to have a closed closet with any light it will eventually become an oven.
Thanks Whodat!!!
@dbrn32. U think it is worth it to pay the extra 30 something bucks for the new one, the HLG 260 xw, I think it is? Says one would save on elec. and it is cooler, and a little bit stronger, so maybe in the long run it is worth it… Maybe save enough on elec. bills…??? Thanks!!!
How about those COB lights??? Anyone used those before? Or have knowledge of those…? I wonder where they are on the running hot spectrum? And if they work very good for growin some good hard buds…??? lol
Wonder if there are any good lights that are made in the U.S., or Canada or something??? lol Or not made in China??? That would be nice!!! Even HLG seems to be using stuff made in China, I think…?
All of the leds are made internationally. But the lights themselves built in us at Hlg and timber. Pacific light concepts and probably more too.
Getting the v2 board is like 5% increase in par per watt. So if you want more efficient then yes.
u think the new ones save much on elec. bills??? Thanks amigo!!!
