Do autoflower get tall?

Allow me to introduce myself and pose a question! I’m a passionate photographer from Virginia who recently delved into the world of plant cultivation. As a first-time grower, I couldn’t resist capturing some stunning shots of my precious plants in action.

Here’s the scoop: I purchased a bunch of seeds and eagerly planted them, but I forgot to jot down any notes along the way. Now I find myself in a bit of a pickle—I’m uncertain about the identity of my plants. Out of the five I have, only one is flaunting an abundance of flowers. However, there’s a catch—it’s a mere 3 feet tall, and while the pistils are turning brown, the trichomes mostly remain clear. Should I expect this plant to reach a towering 8 feet before harvesting? I’m torn between not wanting to chop it down prematurely and avoiding waiting too long. I must admit, the seeds were quite pricey, and the thought of ruining them fills me with nerves.

Meanwhile, the other plants seem to be on a leaf-producing spree. No sign of flowers or seed pods, just an abundance of green foliage. I’ve been using a cannabis-specific potting soil and fertilized them once with a general flower fertilizer. Well, my apologies for the lengthy message—I tend to get carried away. On the bright side, I hope you find solace in the fact that I’ve attached some captivating photos for your enjoyment. After all, that’s the delightful part of it all!

Thanks for being here

I have had autos grown at the same time get 6 to 7 foot tall while a sister plant only was 20 inches. Autos are unpredictable. Typical healthy autos are 3 to 4 ft. The fastest growth is during the two weeks when flowering first starts. I its 12 inches tall to start flower it will double if not triple in height.
Nice pics.
Your plant could use more intense lighting. Cannabis likes a LOT of light.
May I ask what you are using for light?
If outside it may be shaded too many hours.
Btw, Welcome to the forum.

Thanks Spiney
My plants are all outdoors and get around 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. The photos are simply me being creative.

Here is a closer view of the trichomes…sorry, I don’t have a macro lens, but I may have to get one

I used a 35mm SLR for years, but once everything digital took over I quit buying expensive equipment. None of my good lenses work on any new Canon bodies. I have a cheap Sony digital I use. I even gave away all my darkroom equipment which was not cheap.

I mentioned light due to the stretch on leaf stems and between nodes on the main stalk.
All day direct sun is best in most areas.
This is what they do with a lot of light…

My auto’s averaged 3 1/2 to 5 feet in soil, but their height is almost uncontrollable growing in coco.
I had to take my grow light off of it’s ratchet hangers and rope it around the conduit grid on the ceiling of my closet grow just to get an extra few inches, and these plants are still way too close to it. These are all autos.

As stated above autos do as they please.

If one is full flowering and the rest continue to veg (grow leaves and keep going vertical) then it’s a safe bet that the flowering gal is the auto you planted. You shouldn’t expect her to get any taller and ‘guesstimate’ harvest time by the day the pistils formed balls/crowns at the tops. Judging by the pics, I’d say 3-4 weeks ago with 6ish left to mature. Maybe a bit more or less. Don’t judge by height. Judge by trichs/plant maturity

As everyone else said.
Some seem to take forever to get cloudy.
Here’s a hefty outdoor Bruce Banner
