Wow I had that

Hey, I know soil numbers so AI dat coir ![]()
Here are the recommended VWC, irrigation, and dryback targets for each stage:
1. Seedlings
-
Target VWC: 30%–45% (low end of range).
-
Strategy: Maintain consistent, light moisture. Avoid overwatering or letting the medium dry out completely (stay above 30% VWC to prevent wilting).
-
Feeding: Light nutrient solutions (EC 1.1–1.3).

2. Vegetative Stage
-
Target VWC: 50%–65% (higher end).
-
Strategy: Maintain higher moisture content to support rapid growth, with daily or multiple daily feeds to 10-20% runoff to prevent salt accumulation.
-
Dryback: Aim for a 20-30% drop in moisture between waterings to encourage root expansion.
3. Flowering Stage
-
Early Flower: Keep VWC high (around 60%) to support the stretch.
-
Mid-Late Flower: Decrease VWC to 40%–50% and increase drybacks (up to 30%+ drop) to reduce water uptake, which can stress the plant and increase bud density.
-
Late Flower/Flush: Some cultivators may push the lower limit of VWC to 18-22% for generative stress.
Key Takeaways for Coco VWC
-
Saturation Point: ~65% VWC.
-
Critical Dry-down: 30% VWC (approaching wilting point).
-
Consistency: Large swings in VWC stress roots and slow growth.
-
Runoff: To prevent nutrient buildup in coco, always aim for 10-20% runoff.

I’ve never seen one happy below 32%
Can you do runoff with Blumat?

I can’t. Maybe you could if you elevated and opened carrots.
I dig the generative stress.

I think I may just do a florakleen or yucca flush a couple times during the grow and not do the runoff. What’s your thoughts My Brother? ![]()

Yeah you’re gonna wanna have a few at least. The yucca in rez should help some on daily but I’m not sure and guessing. I don’t like guessing.
Edit: The cool thing about the meter it will allow you to see the drinking trends taper up then down. Cool to see the life cycle phases. Puberty adolescence reproductive and ripening.

Do tell??
Well, it’s just the way I grow, always second guessing then correcting with more guesswork depending on what my pH, ppms and plants are growing like top to the bottom of their roots.
I think the AI Coco advice seems a good guide to go by adjusted with a bit of guesswork depending on how the grow is looking.
I never have AI’d it before. I read praying plants. That’s the ranges I saw. The AI basically said the same thing with the coir. Thats cool to me
All the girls new growth looks good for the most part. And the soil moisture is at at least 50 % some 60 ish
Hope to get the blumat up and runnin this weekend but I gotta work so it’s gonna be interesting to say the least
