Welcome to the group gromie! Can you please provide some more info like the soil you’re using, watering and feeding habits, ect.? I’m curious as to when it was planted and the light hours it’s getting, as it seems to be early in veg and starting to flower which may be depleting nutrients. Just wild guesses at this point. With more info the skilled eyes on here will nail it for you soon. Good luck bro!

Sure , i planted it july 13th. Its planted outside and getting 12 hours of sunlight and 12 hours of darkness. I mixed 50% coco coir, 30% soil and 20% compost . I usually water when the top 1 inch is dry. As you said the plant is very small and already in to flowering. I don’t know what went wrong :frowning:
Could the light cycle affected the short size

At 12/12 from the start it will go into flower as soon as it’s sexually mature. That’s one. The plant is ‘leggy’ which indicates too little light (I know you’re outdoors). Finally; mixing ‘soil’ and ‘compost’ into coco just makes crappy soil. It needs additional ingredients to provide the needed C and N in a PH range the plant can utilize.

Can you please explain it more. Im new to growing my owna.
I live in tropics where there’s very bright sunlight for half of the day. So isn’t that light enough ?

Unfortunately, it sounds to me like you have a photoperiod plant that started lated and missed most of its veg time and now starting to naturally flower. You’re going to need some of the guru’s help to salvage this one brother, if it’s even worth it. Sorry that’s over my head. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya! :sunglasses::crossed_fingers:t2:

Thank you friend, thought of letting it grow just to learn so the next time I won’t screw up. Should i go for photo periods or autoflowers next time. We have 12 hours of good sunlight.

If that’s the most sunlight you get per day during the grow season, which should begin right after the last frost and run through the very first frost, then go with autos. Otherwise, start them indoors about 3-4 weeks before the last frost and then keep them in the containers but move them outside so that they can be easily brought in if temps drop or weather is bad until they’re strong enough to transplant. Be sure to download the Grow Bible and all the grow guides on here. There is a wealth of information in them you will find useful. :sunglasses::metal:t2:

Along the Equator, growers have to stimulate the plant to fake it into thinking it’s a longer day. They do this by shining a light on it for 30 minutes in the middle of the night which tricks the plant into thinking it’s a longer day.

Here is a shot of cannabis growing in Colombia:

Soil has to be buffered to be in an acceptable PH range for cannabis. This means adding things like dolomitic lime, bone meal etc. and to measure the native PH of your soil medium. There are a LOT of components to building good cannabis soil.

If you want to build your own soil or are forced to based on where you live you can do a search on this forum for decent recipes. They normally take some time to create as they need to compost together before use. Things like fruit-bat guano, insectivore bat guano, kelp etc. need to be broken down as they are too hot for plants.
