Difficulty telling when to harvest

Good evening. I have two ILGM Gelato Autos. The shorter one on the left is 12 weeks. The much taller one that is almost touching the light is 11 weeks. I’m finding it difficult to tell how close to harvest I’m at, even with a jeweler’s loupe and low end microscope. I’m not in a hurry, but I’m worried about letting them go too long as well.

Trying to get clear pics with the scope is a bit of an exercise in frustration, and I don’t have the steadiest hand to begin with. This is my first grow, so I’m hoping someone with more experience might have some thoughts.

Here is the smaller, older plant. I think it might be pretty close. There are not really many lower, immature buds on this one. I tried taking some scope pictures, but they are only so-so.

Here is the other. It showed some different traits, taller and more purple. This one has a lot of immature lower buds, so I might have to do a 2 part harvest on her. I need to do some training on future grows. This one had a mutation where one set of the first sets fan leaves was missing, and it almost looks like it sort of topped itself i think.

Any thoughts or suggestions are most appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read through all this!

I can still see quite a few white pistils on the first one. When most all of them have changed color and receded I start checking trichs. You’re getting close to the harvest window on that one.

The second one is still showing white pistils as well. As long as you see those the buds are continuing to grow/fatten up. I see the amber trichs in the pics. Are those on the leaves or the buds? Trichs on leaves go amber before the ones on the buds.

Every grow is different, but all my ILGM auto grows have taken a little over 100 days. I’d say you’re probably a couple weeks +/- a few days from harvesting.

I use a microphone stand for the microscope actually works out nice. Try to focus in on the bud not so much the sugar leaves.
