Did I get different seeds?

My plants have gotten bigger now, I’m just about to switch them to flowing stage. They’re about about 3 months old. I got sour diesel feminized seeds. They were planted at the same time and have been in the same environment. Although they do have different soils. The taller one is in a 7 gallon vessel and the other is in a 10 gallon. The 10 gallon has happy frog soil and the other one has a local brand soil. They get fed at the same time. But they look significantly different. I think that maybe I didn’t get sour diesel. Personally the shorter plant in the 10 gallon vessel doesn’t look like sour D. Would the soil have this sort of affect on the plant or are these different strains ?

That’s phenotypes for you. If you want identical plant you clone. If you want different phenotypes you grow from seed. No two plants of the same strain are completely alike. Much like children from the same parents. The variations can be extreme sometimes.

@BobbyDigital is right. If the same mom and dad have ten kids, even if they were all girls and looked similar, no two would be the same. Soil makes all the difference though IMO. Local HD, Ace hardware, wherever, soil can be very hot, or have very little nutritional value.

I see. The description of the sour diesel strain is tall. And one of them fits the description well but the other one doesn’t. Anywhere I looked sour diesel was noted to being a tall plant and that’s why I was having doubts.

I assume you mean flowering, but by a couple of those pics, they already are flowering.

@VF this soil is not from ace hardware it’s a local company. The soil brand is called “Full Circle”. And if we are comparing them to people, I would imagine these kids would be a different color than each other lol that’s just how different they look to me.

@Borderryan22 oops yes that’s what I meant sorry I’m on my iPhone. And yeah the tall one shows buds idk why it started flowering. I’m officially switching the light schedule on Sunday

What are your light hours now? Some will start on 14/10 or 13/11, but most won’t fully flower until 12/12. But I’d you’re on 18/6 for veg, you may have gotten an auto. It’ll keep on flowering if so even with the light switch.

@Borderryan22 I’m on 18/6. I sure hope they’re not auto lol. I paid for feminized :joy: wth ilgm :joy:

I don’t think there is a price difference, but if they are ILGM, they have A1, top notch, primo, top of the line customer service, and may be willing to send you replacements if you shoot them an email from the store page.

Just saw they are ILGM. Hit up CS. It is the weekend tho so they won’t get to you til Monday. But they are stellar at what they do.

@Borderryan22 oh okay lol maybe I’m remembering wrong. Yeah I l think I’ll have to contact them see what they say. Thanks for letting me know

Or you can go back and look at your emails for the purchase receipt. It’ll say on there. Maybe try that before customer service

@Borderryan22 it will say what ? If you’re talking about what I bought, I didn’t buy auto flower I bought feminized seeds from ilgm. There’s no question about that. The question is did I actually get what I wanted.

Auto plants will flower automatically.

Photo plants will flower once they are switched to flowering.

Feminized means that the plant grown will be female and not male 90%+ of the time.

@The_Cannabowlist yes feminized seeds are female. And they require a specific light schedule in order to get into flowering stage where as auto flowers don’t. That’s the main difference.

Oof that node spacing is terrible you didn’t follow dli did you, also no topping or lst either? Poor girls were light starved almost their entire veg cycle and pants respond in 1 of 2 ways they either stunt and barely grow or they stretch like crazy to reach more light

@GreenSnek the tall one will be topped tomorrow when I switch the light schedule. I wanted them to get tall. But sadly only one of them got tall. Perhaps because the other one is a different strain. And yeah I didn’t have the proper lighting when I started. Now I’m using the SE5000 spider farmer lights so hopefully that’s enough. But if it needs more lights then I’ll just add the other lights as well that I was using before but right now it’s just the SE5000. And I had issues with the plants before I don’t think it was the light that caused the stunt lol. I think it was the fact that I wasn’t giving them the right ph level but now I have a ph/tds meter so it’s been better. And idk what “lst” is. This is my very first time growing. That’s why I only planted 2. And also idk what “dli” is either.
