Might as well add this little runt to the journal. She has a funny story to her. I will start by explaining that i used to grow monster plants in my backyard and make a literal cannabis jungle. Now that i have several indoor tents producing much higher quality flower, i promised my spouse that i would never have to grow outside again.
This runty super skunk was a plant that i didnt have the heart to let go of. I started several super skunk and blueberry seeds for a good friend this year with a 90% germination rate. I moved his plants into a veg tent and left the duds in a tent to deal with when i had the time. Four weeks went by and i finally went to clean out the propagation tent only to see this little baby sprout trying to stay alive. I have no idea when it sprouted or how long it was left struggling but i knew i owed it to the baby to nurse her into a happy lady. I may have broke a promise but i feel like i saved a life! Here she is beginning her stretch phase into womanhood.
She is in a ten gallon pot of mostly worm castings, perlite/vermiculite, tiny amount of peatmoss, gaia green power bloom, fishbone meal and crab meal. I went a little higher and more diverse in the phosphorus/calcium content because i knew she would start to stretch for flower within a couple weeks of transplant.
This is quickly becoming my favorite daytime smoke and i will be growing several more plants throughout my life.
On average the company states this plant’s canabinoid content as 10-14% thc and 10-14%cbd with a strong terpene profile.
After chop, she was left to hang dry for 15 days at 16 celcius and 60% humidity. Then dry trimmed and 2 weeks in the grove bags before smoking.
The smoke in a joint burns extremely clean with zero choke or cough to it. Ash completely white with a mango fruit inhale and a creamy mango exhale.
In the vape it’s even cleaner with an obvious higher flavor profile. A very nice daytime treat.
The high is unique. The THC hits first with a heady energetic, happy high. I feel like im walking on sunshine! After a good 25 minutes the cbd clearly takes over. The high slightly fades and a sense of well being and relaxation takes over. For hours afterwards i feel calm and collective with just enough energy to still be productive. This is truely a special smoke. Another amazing job by an amazing company. 34 street seeds are the real deal!!!
Update on the bubba kush:
Fed the soil one last time for this run. Top dressed with worm castings, 1 cup of power bloom by gaia green, 1/3 cup of fishbone meal, 1/3 cup of crab meal. I like to mix it up all together then add to top of soil
Very nice to meet you Beck! I’m happy to hear you’re starting out your organic journey! The name “witch’s brew” comes from my local mushroom farmer. He is big on only focusing on creating a good environment in his brew to populate the fungal life for his garden. It works amazingly. He tends to call more complex teas “witch’s brew”.The term made me laugh so i decided to call my teas the witch’s brew because it contains several ingredients and will change according to what my plants want.
I will use dechlorinated water in a 5 gallon bucket with a decent fish tank pump and two airstones. I add a small bag of worm castings, 3/4 cup of unsulphured organic molases and a cup of homemade lactobacillus. The rest i tend to eyeball. I’ll throw in a dash of fulvic acid, a large pinch of soluable seaweed extract, blend up an aloe leaf from time to time. I will also toss in some Chitosal (a phenomenal product) and once i flip to flower i will add in a little microbial mass (another great product). I will brew for 24-30 hours.
I water it in at full strength which some people think is a little much, but the soil and plants love it. If there is any left over i will dilute 50% and feed my house plants and flowers/trees/grass outside. Everything in nature loves this tea.
Any time! You can check out many videos on youtube to make lactobacillus. The biology is a great for preventing pathogen outbreaks and aids well to the soil food web. A slight word of caution, if done incorrectly can populate unwanted and dangerous bacteria. It can also be stretched out the same way people stretch the EM5 product (also can see on youtube.) I made 5 gallons of the stuff for under 20 bucks.
The true secret to this craft is the life in the soil. If you enjoy reading or listening to audio books definitely give “teaming with microbes” a read. If you can practise what is taught in this book your grow will be high qualoty every round.
Nice ta meet ya, i just started the organic gardening last fall, loving it. Trying to incorporate it into the rest of lifes stuff. Would love to get a worm farm started. Hopefully that will be next. This is my 1st outdoor grow , so far so good. would love to tag along on your grow. Happy growing
Great meeting you TT! I would love to see your outdoor girls! What kind of soil and additions are you using for them??
Happy to have you here! I could use more friends in the organic world of gardening!
Thanks for the heads up! I will definitely be heading over to learn! I bought an oyster mushroom log from my local farmer and failed miserably at growing it out😅. Thank god he’s generous with his spent material because i dont ever think i could manage a fruiting chamber! It is definitely harder than it looks.
I just checked it out! It’s such a cool hobby and practise. I definitely respect the craft. Im obsessed with fungal activity in soil and how intelligent it seems to act. I cannot grow them to save my life. I guess I’m just too loyal to the soil for any other hobby lol
