Defoliating too late?

I let these two get away from me during the stretch. Is it too late to defoliate at week two of flowering?

I’d make sure that nothing is touching the ground. Maybe go up 8" or so on the stalk and remove everything. Then be selective and only remove enough leaves to ensure good airflow. That’s all until you are about to harvest, at which point you can strip the plant to make actual harvest easier.

Thanks for the info. I had read that drfoliating during flower could cause problems like kicking them back into veg or even cause them to become hermaphridites

Too much?

@Myfriendis410 How many days before harvest is best to defoliate?

If youre going to defol during flower, the optimum times are 21 days in and 42 days in.

My plant had the bottom third removed once it was put in the SCROG. Then at +21 days in flower I will do a selective defol and again at +42 days. Once I have a target date for harvest I will go in and strip as many larger leaves off, leaving sugar leaves for the bowl trimmer. This could be a week before harvest or the day before. It’s more a way to spread the work out than to improve yields etc.

@maplebuds Hmm I though I was the only one… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I also let them get away from me this year…Not only overgrowth but I lagged on my plant supports and now its harder to manage!..I just trimmed my Romulan but my Bluberry Muffin didn’t need any…Ill follow @ChittyChittyBangin @Myfriendis410 advice and do a follow up trim…It looks a lot better and had given the plant more free air space

I was just looking for this same question before I asked. My first photos and I love the size but definitely caught me off guard, plus too long veg ( for the room size). Thanks y’all! Pre trim pictures. I bent the top of the bigger one and the next day they all changed direction and started vertical again.
