Defoliating / Pruning

So I’m curious how many fan leafs are y’all defoliating? Is there a particular “size” of leaf that’s considered to large ?
Trying to ensure that my girl is making the most of her energy for flower.
Thanks

This is Autoflower? I think less is more. Since autos dont have the time to get over shock.
I’ve seen posts talking about not doing it until a few days before harvest.

I know that during flower, leaves are cannibalized since the nutrients are stopped at least 2 weeks before harvest. And soil is often flushed out to avoid chemicals being part of the finished product. So i dont pull much out, even for photoperiods. I do prune during veg tho.

Im still learning the details. But with photoperiod, I start with the larger fan leaves on the upper branches to ensure the lower canopy gets light. That helps give me a starting point. Then i train the canopy so they allow each layer to grow away from each other.

It looks like there wasnt much training, but the plant looks great.

As long as you have good air flow then i wouldnt trim anything. Your fan leaves are your solar panels and when she done with them, she will consume them. I always leave em for a snacky snack if she gets hungry between feedings. If you have a budsite the fan leaf is covering, try to tuck instead of pluck. Happy Growing

Healthy looking plant.

How’s your Temp, RH, and Airflow? Prune as many as you need to in order to keep a proper environment…that number could be 0.

I only grow autos and my environment is challenging, so I prune a lot…here’s today from a couple plants ~7 weeks above ground:
