I cut. I think that’s where I went wrong. I have a pretty little auto thats not far from fim time. I’ll definitely be using the pinch technique this time
I was going to cut, but when I was pinching the leaves together it was easy to feel what was going on in there so I just said screw it and dug a nail in.
That’s probably the best way to do it
niiiice!
Allllllright. Quick update time.
Smooth sailing so far with the AutoPot and the Gelato Auto seems to be loving it and recovering well from the FIM. (first two photos below)
Sick’O’Berry #1 is growing well and liking the full doses of AN Sensi. And lastly, Sick’O’Berry #2 (about a week behind) just started on full dose nutes. PPFD floating around 300 (little higher for Gelato, slightly lower for the others).
Niiiiiice!
Clearly very early in the run still but I’m REALLY liking the Coco so far.
Same, love the aggressive growth. Still debating on straight coco or mixed with perlite with final pots… throw me some of those auto pots bro.
Glad to hear! I’m planning on switching to coco my next round. Dealt with too much bs with this soil. I’m over it lol
Assuming one of the SOBs is female she’ll go in a coco / pearlite mix. The gelato is straight coco as I wasn’t planning on the Autopots when I transplanted… will be interesting to compare even though the strains couldn’t be farther apart.
See- I know the mix is supposed to be great. I have a big ass bag of 1/4” perlite.
Increased waterings however.
But with autopots, that doesn’t matter. 2-3 gallon pots on autopots would save some floor space. Without autopots I’m hoping to delay waterings by not adding perlite. Ya know? Same perks less feedings. I’ll be top feeding. Which means managing run offs.
Idk how I’m going to approach it if I have to vac up daily and feed daily.
Exactly why I didn’t mix that first batch. Same train of thought.
I used the RainPoint Wi-Fi irrigation when out of town with the soil and I could manage proper watering with very little runoff for a few days pretty easily. Once I saw how quickly things flow through the coco even without pearlite….
On my first coco grow right now. 5 weeks in and I’m finally figuring it out. Water often and then some!
Yeah, it’s a fraction of an inch away from Hydro for sure. And I can see why it’s not right for everyone but….
A few quick update pics. Everyone still seems happy and healthy. My money is still on SOB #1 as the female. Time will tell.
Gelato Auto:
SOB 1 & 2. Reminder, #2 is about a week behind.
I’m excited to see that sob! I need to get my hands on some before long.
Two things I wanna say:
- they are looking great!
- Gelato auto is fun to say
It is, lol.
And I should offer my apologies to @imSICKkid for constantly abbreviating Sick’O’Berry to SOB but those apostrophes and caps are a pain in the butt on the phone keyboard and I use the phone when posting pictures.
