Current strains similar to Vietnamese weed in 1965-68?

My first and still the best dope I ever smoked as a high school student on Okinawa from 65-68. We moved there after my dad retired from the USAF and took a 3-year gig flying for Air America, mostly in SE Asia. Anyhow, GIs would often bring some smoke with them when on R&R from South Vietnam. $5/matchbox. Just 2-3 tokes gave me the most euphoric, trippy (in an auditory sense) high I’ve ever experienced. I assume it was a sativa based on the source and effect. Anyone have insight and recommendations for comparable strains today? Feminized or auto preferred, producing a medium-sized plant suitable for a relatively small indoor grow space (a repurposed shower stall in the half bathroom in my condo).

Vietnamese Black is the only Vietnamese strain that has been mentioned here in the forum in the past.

You may want to look for some Thai strains and preferably regs :love_you_gesture:

Thanks. I’m familiar with what we called Thai Sticks in the 70s, but it didn’t compare to the Vietnamese weed. In fact, I think some Thai strains are indica dominant.

I’m growing a batch of that VB now, 100% Sativa. Probably flip to flower in a couple weeks, once I know I’ve gotten enough clones off the 2 of 5 that popped!
