Much appreciated, but I’m not here for that lol. I will do whatever I can with the tools provided to get you through from start to finish though.

In a different world, I would certainly consider it. Unfortunately my career is pretty demanding, but allows the comforts and stability that my family requires. In order to be competitive in that market you need to buy in huge quantities. And the led technology changes so quickly, that you really need to be turning the lights out to sell the stock before it becomes outdated. I really don’t have the time to do that is all. So I settle for trying to keep everyone on a level where they can do it themselves.

HLG and RapidLED both have very competitive white COB and strip-based products. You don’t have to buy blurple lights on Amazon. Total DIY is a bit cheaper but their kits are pretty decent. If dbrn32 went into business, he would have to charge about the same amount! There is such a thing as labor cost and markup if any business is going to survive, unless the owner is running a charity and is a millionaire.

And even if somebody was a charitable millionaire, there is still all the liability of selling things that idiots can kill themselves with, and federal scrutiny for selling to growers of an illegal substance.

Hello dbrn32. Long time no talk. I hate to ever bother you, however, I just purchased the HLG 260w xl about 5 mins. ago. I feel like a kid in a candy store right now! Buddy, my question(s) come in the way of practical use now. Such as hanging distance from plants, how hard to run it at first and as the days go on, and really any and all advice you can give me I will cherish and use without question.
I bought one for flower only intentions, 3000k. I apologize it took so long for me to finally heed your advice and purchase this fine piece of equipment, but I just now scraped together the funds to afford it. You don't know how much I appreciate you and all you do!! Thanks again buddy!

P.s. I did not know how else to get in touch with you, I hope this was ok??

You’ll be very happy with the light. Are you still in the 2x4? And the plants will be ready to flower when they go underneath it?

Yes sir. Correct on both accounts.

Try something like 24” at around 60% for about 5 days or so. Then lower it a few inches for another few days, then lower to about 15” for s few days. 15” is probably a pretty good height to flower at. But use your best judgement for coverage. Once you have it at that height you can increase intensity about 10-15% at a time. Giving a couple days between adjustments.

What you want to do is give the plants some time to adapt to a different light spectrum and intensity. And give yourself some time to adapt to feeding. If they’ll be nitrogen and calcium hungry under full intensity, so you’ll have some time to adapt to that as well.

Brother, you are the best!! I hope it will be ok to ask for more help if and when needed while going through this learning curve. You got me this far (finally) and your wealth of knowledge is a blessing to all lucky enough to be here on this forum. Thank you!
