Curing and drying for newbies

Hi I am a new grower and I have just finished my first ever harvest I am now on to the curing part. I have finished the drying and just put them in the jars with a Boveda pack 62% for humidity control. And have just bought the monitors for the jars as well ( I bought them last minute cause I didn’t think I needed them). But my biggest concern is how do I get my tree to turn out fluffy and dense like when you buy it from a dispensary. When I trimmed them they were flakey and airy plus it was also dry. Is what makes them dense and fluffy the curing process and if so how do I do it correctly and what are the humidity and temps that should be read inside the jar.

If your buds are flakey after drying, basically they are drying out to fast. As far as density, drying and curing isn’t a factor to bud density. The number one factor for bud density is lighting or the lack of quality lighting. There are other contributing factors but lighting is the main one.

So what is the ideal temp and humidity to drying and how long should they dry for? And so In order to get more compact buds I have to get a better light?

If possible you would want temperatures in the low 70’s or even in the high 60’s and rh 60%. That will slow down the the drying process and allow for chlorophyll to dissipate from buds. Those temperatures and rh may be difficult to reach but that’s what is ideal. As far as lighting goes it’s the main factor in producing dense buds. What type of light are you currently using.

2 MARS HYDRO TS 1000W Led Grow Light 3x3ft in a 4x4 tent. What do you recommend I use instead willing to buy something better!

From Amazon:
Consuming only 150W with 342 LEDS

You need at least 50% more light than what you have now. 450 plug watts would get you in the ballpark so one more light may do it.

So i was going to upgrade to a 5x5 tent do you have any recommendations for lights on a tent that big something i could possibly find on amazon that would make the buds more dense

Look at Horticulture Lighting Group. Try to avoid Amazon.

Ok what should i be looking for if my tent is a 5x5

@dbrn32 could better help with exact models.

For 5x5 you want a light that is at least 1500 umols/s. Most would do even bigger and go 1700+.

There are at least a few dozen really good led fixtures that could do this. From hlg the 650r or scorpion Diablo. Chilled tech, fluence, and many others. Would be more a matter of budget and features, but I would expect to spend in excess of $1000 for good led fixture to flower a 5x5.

Would this be a good enough model for a 5x5 tent
