Wondering if I kept the air pump for my 5gal bucket dwc in a colder place if it would blow colder air? Or could I run the lines through something cold to lower my water temps in the buckets? Trying to infuse my water with cold air… Will it work? If this has been asked before I’m sorry… I looked but couldn’t find anything…

Sounds like you would potentially cause some condensate in lines, and that could be bad if siphoned back into your pump. Using water chiller would be best way.

I think I’m going to go with a mini fridge… Make some sort of hole in the door that I can bring the tubes through. Have it on some sort of thermostat switch to keep it between 58-62? Idk… I’ll have to dial that in… I will have it elevated above the buckets and have back flow filters for any condensation issues… I have 16 buckets… Regular Dwc no res… That’s why I need an air cooler…

Dwc is gonna be hard to keep water temps down unless your in a cold basement. Many have tried and many have failed. But, some have survived. It is a challenge without a chiller. That’s why I chose to go rdwc.

You could probably do with mini fridge, but I suspect would take some tweaking of coil size and setpoints.

@HappyHydroGrower so I decided to make a rdwc… 3 5gal buckets… 20 gal tote res… I kind of want to get a cycle going since I’m growing autos… Can I top feed for veg for 4-6 weeks and then jam to them in to the rdwc for the flower using 6 inch rockwool cube? My thoughts are my res ppm will stay relatively close… It changes a little from week six to harvest right? I’ll keep the veg plants in a tub and lower it as they grow… So basic question I guess is can I top feed an auto in a 6in rockwool cube for 6 weeks then put in a rdwc for the remainder?
