I started cloning last year. After all the trials and tribulations I need to find a popular strain of cannabis that yields a plethora of clones. My experience is that Blue Dream, Green Crack, Headband are great strains that clone well. The worst cloner for me was Ken’s GDP.
Can you please suggest strains?

What program of fertilizer is least expensive and effective? I am growing clones. I have trouble with “N”.
Used Calcium nitrate, Verde and 30-10-10, 20-20-20, and 16-16-16. Always Aptus Facillitotor and CaMag from GH. Micros from Advanced. I do use an EC wand and pH meter religiously.

What is your medium? Are you going into rock wool or peat pots or soil or hydro?
I’m a soil grower, FFOF, I add an organic dry fertilizer every 14 days (Black Magic) and have recently started using a product recommended by my local grow shop called “Sea Grow”. 16-16-16 water soluble. So far, the girls are happy. I have a fairly aggressive feeding schedule based on feedback from the plants. Everything is ph 6.5 after dipping from the goldfish pond and adding my nutes. No issues with N.
I’ve only done a dozen or so clones in the last year but I’ve had 100% success so far just going into soil after dipping in roottone.

So now my medium is:
75% coco
15% quality soil (ocean forest)
10% perlite
Moms and clones. Keep TDS around 200-300 for clones and 500-1000 TDS for the moms.
I work in Agriculture. Tomato growers and those that can afford it use LOTS of either granular or liquid Calcium Nitrate. It is a hot mixture. Instant N for the plants. Any experience?
pH drives me nuts. You get range 5.5-6.5. I have been using 5.8-6.0. I know phosphorous likes the higher pH. Every grower I have talked to about pH are usually at 6.

First off, I’m a hobbyist grower: there are MANY more knowledgeable than me.
I do have and don’t use a ppm gauge simply because the strong package strength has been just fine and that’s repeatable enough. Different data set.
Starting my clones I do keep fairly damp and under a dome with 24/0 lights. A 300 watt Meizhi about 24" above the highest part of the cutting.
I use water naturally softened from the goldfish pond to use for watering. My schedule is feed feed water except molasses with the water cycle. Everything ph 6.5 with a calibrated meter. Water to 10% runoff. The ambient humidity is generally somewhat low for veg but the plants are healthy and happy so I’m not too worried.
6.5 ph is generally considered the nominal water in ph with 6.2 to 6.3 in the runoff. This would put you in a more ideal range, FOR SOIL.

I cloned California Dream twice and they did quite well…grown in Fox Farms soil mix…one is now flowering in my tent and the other is still growing outside…just my
$.02 worth…

I know a lot of strains. I live in CA and have never heard of Ca Dream. Will look it up.
If you like Sativa and BIG yields try Tangerine Dream. Incredible smoke. Taste like “creamy tangerine”. I have tried well over a 100 strains. Visiting my daughter in NV I stopped at a dispensary. First class!!! With my order I got a free bio-diesel joint. Inhaled first time…my tongue went wild. Every flavor that work together sensitized it. Exquisite!!! Class of its own!
Lot of research and time I found it was a product of 303 Seeds in Colorado. It is a spall operation with other strains linked to a Bio-Diesel mom. Jet Fuel is one. The turds only sell seed to folks in Colorado. Thats it. NOTHING international.

@burchjj I would recommend getting some promix along with the organic flour power nutrients that all you need and a pH pen you will not believe the results these are mine 4 weeks in the flower using one 600 W meizhi led lights and three 300 W 3 plants in a 2x6x6 grow tent just started week 4 of flower over 20+ colas on each One is super silver haze one is a gorilla glue and one is a gold leaf all ilgm

I have 3 LED systems. The best so far has been Advanced. They are expensive!
I have an older set. They worked OK. The worst was Mars.
The mnfg you mentioned was Meizhi LED.
I have done a little research. The prices were extremely reasonable.
But…do they perform. I really want them for veg with clones and moms.
