With roots organics green fields you can pour a gallon of water in and still feels light as a feather, but with original, pour a gallon of water and it is very heavy. Big difference in the days in between watering.
That’s good info. Thanks. I’m starting to watering at 5.8 until my PH is back where I want it to be.
I’m using organic PH down to alter my tap water along side organic nutes biobizz, the PH down is biobizz too. I’m not seeing any issues as of yet and the biobizz feed schedule does show u can use their PH up/down with their organic nutrients line. I’m puzzled as to whether I should be using it at all then ![]()
working on my second light with this design @dbrn32
liked @DoobieNoobie design and went with it, it is so simple it isn’t funny. Thx you guys.
Oooh! Light envy! ![]()
If you are growing with organic soil, basically what I posted is what I have learned so far, regular watering with no nutes and if you have water that is 7,0 pH then I wouldn’t do nothing with pH. When you feed, my nutes drive my pH way down and I have no choice but to add some organic pH up to get it out of the 4’s. But what has happened to me, pH up built up in my soil and kept building. So you have to be very careful with that. If your plants show no deficiency then I would not change my ways, keep doing what is working for you. Most important is to watch your leaves.
Out of likes so
Thankyou ![]()
Okay just mixed up my nutes for my veg tent for tomorrow. 1/2 power.
2.5 gallons of RO water
1 tbsp cal mag
1 tsp liquid guano
2 tsp of budda grow
2 tsp of ancient amber
2 tsp of Trinity
1 tsp of surge
413 ppm
4.3 pH
So I bubble this for 24 hours, then unlike before, before I water I will only pH up to 5.7-6.0 instead of 6,3-6.5 and see if that makes a difference in this grow. When pH’ing let sit for 5-10 mins before checking so things settle and you get an accurate measurement. When the three girls are done in the 4x4 tent, then will start super soil and on to a new learning experience.
The nutes I mixed up are for my 5x5 tent that I don’t have a journal for, in that one I have my sky walker clone that is exploding, the mac daddy, one chemdawg clone and one from seed, and another black widow from seed, wow 5 in that one, going to have my hands full.
I have 5 in a 90x90 tent atm and clones, the 5 will be going into a 4x4 tent this weekend for flower, it will be full in there
you should have enough room if you don’t veg too long.
Looking good!
For all; The Dolomitic Lime in Promix or in Super soil is what buffers the OH into a usable range. Just to clarify.
That is right. The reason is for those new growers, is that certain minerals are only available to the plant in the proper PH range. Happy growing ![]()
So what you’re saying is use dolomite to help keep ph in check? Like a tea?
@zparkie2 I’m designing some lights myself. Where did you get your heatsinks?
Heat sink USA. I get the 2.079 wide ones, because they are cheaper cost wise and I figure if the heat sink is a little wider than the strip it’s ok. Price isn’t bad but shipping puts it up there.
Use it for an amendment for your super soil, eliminating having to use liquid nutrients to feed.
Thanks. It confuses me as to why I have a ph issue using super soil. I’ll either top dress the the soil with a small amount of dolomite or use a tea to try to get the ph back in check. Or at least that’s my hopes.
I’m getting my new ph tester today so I’m curious to see how far off my old tester was.
I just scrolled through your grow and I did not see a deficiency at all. Are you checking your run off and that is what your concern is Because unless I miss something I didn’t see any Leaf deficiency going on I only seen a great grow with the super soil. I will be using that Super soil in about of six weeks or so. I plan on using Roots Organics greenfields on the top half of my 7 gallon pot and the super soil on the bottom half.
