Checkered Flag Grow

The other thing I saw on their web site was water in at 6.2 to 6.4 for soil, guessing they know it drifts up. I have been going in around 6.3 to 6.4 and comes out at 6.8 to 6.9. When I was watering at 6.8, ph out was in the 7s. Not sure, but that is what I have found. @Indacut

I use EC and convert to PPMs if I need to. I think I’ve got a bit more of a grasp on it. I haven’t really been checking run off pH as I read some on it and in order to get a accurate reading for soil it should be a slurry test. Haven’t tried it. Have you guys? As far as I put pH I keep mine about 6.3-6.5 for my input. My last feed was EC 1.8 and she’s loving it.

I haven’t done a slurry. My runoff has been in range most of the time. This is the boring time, just waiting for them to finish. I like the base soil (Organic Mechanic) I used, great drainage. Not pre loaded, but pretty good if you are feeding the entire time, added about 30 percent Perlite.

Not using Foop next run in auto pots, but as far as mixing nutes it is fairly easy. Has CalMag and Silica already in it.

One of my pre cautions against accidental light leak at lights out :joy:. I don’t want it going wrong now.

I think I have to go in at maybe 6 evenish, even at 6.3 I was still getting high 7 output. Maybe my soil is still feeding if that makes sense. Unlike what you did I have a super charged soil. That could be to explain some of the issue possibly. I wont be using foop my next time around either. While mixing the stuff aint hard. I do want a few less steps and things to add in. Over time its just like ughh. I want to stick with organic and just do top dressing. @Flatnut I’m not familiar with the slurry but was reading a post a few days ago on someone doing one. Thats what they were saying too, its better for soil testing. Sounds like you found your sweet spot. Ive been on your post before, looked like you had a grasp on it last I was there. Are you at the end now? I cant recall how far you were my last read there lol.

@patrick1960 hah, love the no light leak set up. To far along to take a chance. I’ve got towels up in my loft windows (and shades). Wife been wanting to put girlie curtains. Had to put my foot down. As I walked upstairs to hang curtain rods…hah.

@Indacut my grow went decent. Learned a lot. Harvest was good and my wife and I love the fact that we can smoke and not have to deal with anyone. Plus something about the fruit of your labor that makes it more satisfying.

Just waiting for them to finish up, they are coming along nicely. Hoping all is dried and in cure bags by mid August. I should have enough time :crossed_fingers:. Wife and I have to be in Lexington Va a bit early for wedding week on the 20th. From where we are in MD about a 4.5 hr drive. Going to look at area as a possible place to retire to. Va has good grow laws to boot.

Getting close. Hope you make your window. How tall would you say they ended up? All the buds look full.

Bet August can’t come soon enough. Vacation always good.

Beautiful girls! I hear good things about VA. When I get to that point I would like to go the island way! Not sure which one but I want heat and clear waters. If not I can settle for Nevada :joy:

Yeah love the water and the desert. This area in Va nestled in the mountains. Close to UVA hospital system ( big thing as you get older). My daughter getting married will live in No Va near Dc. So close to one of the kids. The other is in San Diego, we go there 3 or 4 times a year, the ideal climate. Who knows where we end up, if we move. Our home is too much for just us 2 now and the congestion is maddening.

Finally answering your question, tallest is about 21 in from the dirt. My dirt is probably 4 in below the top of bag. I have them all bent to the sides pretty good, so they are short. They are just chugging along, more of the white pistils starting to fade. Just feeding or watering every 2 days. They are still taking food, but I do see the directions show the feed backing off this week. 9 weeks finished since flip.

Thanks for the video. I get stuck on any channel that is some type of racing. In hindsight at 5 I should have been bugging my parents to get me in karting, then onto F1 :joy:

I did fulfill that itch some and was a pretty competitive SIM racer. We used to have announcers for 24 hour events. Get a few hundred viewers on you tube. Kind of out of that now.

That high speed boat racing is scary. I have been in some pretty quick cars, but going that fast on water is not for me. I like watching them though. One small issue and….

I did find an old YouTube video of our league. We raced on gran turismo. 4 to a team for 24 hours we were on Skype planning pit stops and driver changes. It was fun. We won our class and a virtual Rolex. Used to be in race lobbies with the kid they made the movie of. Gran Turismo to real life. It is happening more and more with other kids getting in via sim racing. @bentstick.

Crazy loud and pretty powerful. I went camping in Md once with wife and friends on a lake. It was a RC racing weekend. I didn’t mind so much, but a few weren’t happy with the screaming boats all day :joy:.
