Ok… I know… I know… You are all saying…. This guy has too much time on his hands, but it’s 5F outside, Amazon is still delivering packages. So read on with my latest winter hobby fun.
Have never been happy with just mesh filtering of “Magic” Butter or Coconut Oil – Even Tincture… No matter what, “Plant Fines” have always ended up deposited at the bottom of the butter stick or jar of coconut oil.
While it’s understood that that extraneous plant matter in consumables has never interfered with humans enjoying the pleasures and benefits of the cannabis plant and there is probably good stuff in those “Plant Fines”. I just wanted to generate nice clean magic butter sticks….
After doing by best with various mesh and paper filters. (So messy and not the results I was looking for). Amazon for $200, purchased a 4 tube 100ml (4oz per tube) basic centrifuge that can generate 2770 G’s!! With that type of spin/force, it seemed reasonable that it would clear / separate magic butter the tiniest of plant matter and of course does!
The four 100ml tubes can spin 1 cup (1lb) of liquid per run. So thru-put not an issue. It takes all of 5 minutes to complete the process and it makes the most beautiful nearly translucent light green butter sticks. Knowledgeable friends who they are shared with still can’t figure out how they are produced. Yes, they have the same effects as non-centrifuged sticks, but there is a “Pride Factor” in there. Take the above as a just another way to enjoy the Cannabis hobby.
I use a levo to make butter and it does great. But it was a little pricey. Either way you only live once so if you want anything and can afford it get it. It’s always worth it then. Looks like a cool device.
Yes, i agree 100%. I make butter from hash and there’s always that good old goo in there on the bottom of the stick. I usually just mix it right into the batter. They come out with a very mild taste and the kick of a mule.
It’s just a cleaner looking product with no “darker” particles that usually settle to the bottom of the mold. Not a big thing. just a final little step.
Next…. Air Fryer usage. Assuming done by many.
As a start…
Photo of Cosori air fryer and temp measurement equipment used.
Help me understand it a bit better? I strive to get every bit of the plant out, was digging into super critical co2 to do so. This sounds so much more effective.
Can you break down the steps and offer a link to the unit?
So if you look close… all the info on equipment is in the posting or photos… All components available from Amazon…
But you can see how spinning the butter really cleans up the product (Just a point of pride)…
The use of the air frier (Cosori in this case $99) to Decarboxilate bud …Monitored with a standard wifi meat monitor (Govee $59) … Really give fantastic control of Temp & Time
The hand held temp meter was just there to verify the Govee wifi meat monitor being reasonably calibrated …
