CBD & THCA for a Dying Dog

This lunkhead is the bestest friend a person could ever ask for.

Sorry to hear about your pooches. Thank you for your kind words.

Today, I made a QWET using approximately 1oz of undecarbed Blue Amnesia trim. It’s winterizing, now.

I hope to get 1-2 grams of purged THCA oil. There will be THC in it, but most likely an extremely small amount. I will mix it with 10-20ml of Salmon Oil, then administer it orally twice a day.

I am planning on starting at approximately 3mg (a single drop) twice a day and working up to 40 mg twice day, over 2 weeks’ time. Once at that high dose for only 15 days, she will be up to over 1 gram of THCA (and a much, much, much, much smaller amount of THC) in a month. After 2 months, she will have consumed 3 grams, total. I will then start a maintenance dose. This is my way of doing a dog-safer FECO treatment (RSO).

As for CBD, I’m working her up to 100 mg of CBD and 100 mg of CBDA per day. Currently, I only have decarbed material and a supplement with CBD isolate, so the CBDA won’t start for about a week. Eventually, she will receive over 3 grams of CBD & CBDA a month, forever.

For her morning meds, she recieved 33 mg CBD isolate supplement, approximately 25 mg of my personal CBD tincture, and approximately 3 mg THC; she’ll get the same this evening.

All of this is just my thoughts based on various things I’ve read. I am really just experimenting on my poor pooch. Everything I try is ABSOLUTELY DEPENDENT upon her tolerance. If, at any point, cannabis causes any toxicity, I will decrease the dosage until she is comfortable.

Baseline pic collage:

It goes across her palate, but she wouldn’t hold still long enough to get a shot of that.

I will say, after only 4 days on CBD, her nasal discharge is down to almost nothing. Usually, her left nostril just leaks thick snot. She’s like a little kid. It’s gross, really. Not sure if it’s the CBD or something else, just putting it out there.

Sorry to hear about your pup. We have our 13 year old teacup chihuahua that is nearing her end. I got full spectrum CBD oil made for pets and started her off with .25ml (she only weighs 2 pounds) and put it in her food. Did that dose for two weeks and now we give her .5ml per day and it seems like a good dose for her. She looks better when she walks now and has an appetite again. I don’t know how much time we’re buying her, but it’s been worth it so far. I hope for the best. :v::bear:

Any time is worth it, so long as they’re happy. 13 years old
boy, what a lot of love you must give that teensy thing.

If you need any CBD oil for her, I will have a lot here, very soon. Just for doggies. Hit me up on the other side.

That really goes for anyone in desperate need. If you’re also on the other side, let me know. I will have some to spare, I’m sure.

My husky is 50 pounds. Started him on 10 drops of CBD for dogs, he was still occasionally having a seizure on that dose. Stepped him up to full spectrum for people and that seemed to work better eventually raised his dose to 15 drops and that seems to be the sweet spot. Pic of him and his partner in crime:)

Glad you found the sweet spot!

My dog is currently getting about 70mg of CBD a day, 33mg in isolate form and about 40mg of full spectrum oil I made for myself.

I highly recommend anyone administering it to their pets learn how many mg per drop/dose are in whichever product you’re using. It’ll just give you a more accurate picture of what’s helping your pets. Also, then when you share info, irregardless of brand of product, readers will be able to figure out a comparable dose.

My dog is on Lazarus naturals CBD full spectrum 900mg per 60ml. It’s 15mg for a full dropper. He’s getting a 1/4 dropper so somewhere around 4mg per dose. It’s enough to keep the seizures at bay. It sucks watching a pet go through health issues because they can’t tell you what they’re feeling.

Here’s what I’m working on:

Hemp has arrived, so tomorrow I’ll start her CBD/CBDA. I am currently processing some sugar leaves from Blue Amnesia for her THCA/THC mixture.

I washed approximately 6oz of decarbed trim and triple filtered it. Running it through the Source, now. It’s a quart of CBD tincture, so it’ll probably take about 10 hours to process all of it.

Sorry for the frostiness! I tried to wipe it off, but 20 below fluid tends to cause condensation at room temp. :grinning:

In the meantime, I am washing another 6oz of decarbed CBD trim.

Maybe @imSICKkid could combine that beaker shot with this:

They are my kids! Poor baby, its awesome you love her so much. My babies arent to that point. Hip dysplasia is awful in german shepherds but the cannabis does help. Making tinctures in about a month for hubby, me & my 3 babies.
Thanks so much for sharing this with everyone!

I would like to talk to you about this. Have a 15 year old mastiff and sadly he is starting to go downhill. He is a hoss at 130lbs so it’s becoming hard for him to walk and support that weight on bad hip and knees. Would like to start giving him something for the pain and maybe help him not have to limp around.

I am not a doctor, but CBD is definitely an option to keep on the table.

We’re all kinda figuring this stuff out for ourselves, so I am hesitant to recommend specifics to anybody. There is so much info out there to disseminate!

You’re very welcome! The more heads thinking about this, the better.

Aren’t tinctures great at medicine?

I found some great articles!

Looks like max dosage can safely be increased to about double what I was originally planning. Slowly working our way up.

Reading through the articles you shared ( thank you) the thc dosing one says to start with .05 ml per pound. My 90lb boy would get 4.5 ml, does that not sound like an awful lot? I mean I’m just thinking I have 5ml syringes and no way I’d give him nearly that whole syringe. Am I comprehending that wrong?
