If it was me I’d be feeding already. In soiless media I start small when they get primaries then slowly dial it up each watering.
So should a start by adding a quarter or half of the recommended then slowly increase the dosage.
If you don’t have one already you’ll want a TDS/EC meter. It will provide you with real numbers to calibrate the strength of your solution rather than guessing. You would mix according to a feed chart to get the appropriate ratio of nutes for a given growth stage then dilute to desired strength with plain water. I start around 400uS then add around 100uS each watering till I get to my target.
Yeah I’ll definitely have to get one any recommendations?
I use an Apera PC60, but you don’t have to spend that much. Apera and blulab both make quality meters but they can be pricey. There are some cheaper ones on amazon, but I tried the cheap vivosun meters. One didn’t work straight out the box and the other lost its calibration pretty quickly. I hear there are some decent cheap ones, but idk which those would be.
Popping in to follow along
I like and use this one…the cheap ones just don’t last/work well…
Yeah it definitely seems like you get what you pay for when it come to equipment and accuracy seems to be more than half the battle at times so i definitely think I’ll go for quality
The vivosun ph meters are hit or miss I had one for two years and or was spot on then went way off. I bought another vivosun would not keep calibration over once. I bought the apera that is a good ph pen so far.
I have the apera to measure my ph just nothing for tds/ec and these girls are definitely ready for some nutes I hear just about every one on here talking about jacks but I think I’m going for Humboldts nutes
I have not heard anyone using the humboldt’s product… is this the same as the seed company… I have been using General Hydroponics for 4 years and have no reason to switch…many do like the Jacks 321 nutrient line…
I believe it is same company I haven’t looked at their official website but they have kits on Amazon my buddy got some clones and is using it he’s in flower and getting some nice results from it so I think I’ll give it a go
Started to lst the super silver haze last night she’s responding well and already finding the light the other super silver took the transplant really well definitely think I’m going to transplant the other girl today and is 70% humidity to high for the flowering lady’s I’m definitely more focused on the photos and trying to keep them happy as I’m not getting much off the auto
Should I clip these two fan leaves or just keep trying to tuck them they blocking light from the lower nodes
this should be based on how you intend to grow IMHO…I take big fans off that are blocking light to below branches…
looks good…
This is the meter that the feeding guru @Lostgirl recommended to me. Works great. She also has a link for them on ali express i just don’t have that link. I bought the one from Amazon.

That is the cheap one I was talking about earlier that a lot of people use and seem to like. I just didn’t have the link or info. As I understand It can be calibrated so that’s a plus over most of the cheapo meters
I too used GH. I know I’ve seen some that switched to jacks from GH because it’s getting expensive to run in bulk and jack is a cheaper option.
That’s a hot topic. I’ve been experimenting with it for a few years and my opinion is no for lots of reasons( I was saying the opposite when I started experimenting). Blocking the light is rarely a good reason to remove leaves especially when the plant is small or well trained. The leaves are where the plant makes and stores energy as well as performs transpiration(big part of how they get water up to the leaves) if you start removing too many it will hinder the plant ability perform basic life processes. I would rather bounce light off a leaf than remove the leaf and illuminate the dirt underneath. I used to do a lot of pruning too and there is a time and a place (mostly for airflow), but I don’t understand why you would remove a leaf that is making use of the light in favor of a hole that doesn’t.
Yeah that makes sense I’ll definitely wait a little for more input next time lol and I’ll be ordering the meter and nutes on pay day (Friday)
