Hi everyone, I’m new to growing and was just wondering if flushing your plants whether it’s nutrient lock out or harvest etc, would over water your plants? Would I wait till the plants need watering or can you flush whenever?
You can saturate your soil and drown the roots if you aren’t careful. I had a situation where I needed to repeat the flush within two days of having done one and felt the plant suffer as a result.
Seems to me drowning plants can’t be good… imho, I use sledgehammer from fox farms, it’s a flushing agent, other companies have similar products… this way I only run 2-3 gallons through soil to flush… I never quite understood running 3x the amount of soil in water through the plant root system but people have been doing this
Either way works.
You’re definitely less likely to overwater while flushing if you grow in fabric pots. Also, if you roughly or quickly pour in the flushing solution, you can severely upset the root zone.
Flushing is your friend.
good drainage is important
Is flushing just watering instead of feeding over the course of several days until the ppm go down to where you want it?
