Fairly new to this. I have a few outdoor auto grows in, but still have a lot to learn. I’m about to start again, weather permitting. I realize that pretty much everyone on here grows indoor but maybe there are a few outdoor growers?
I am trying to keep it simple as some of this is overwhelming and gets expensive.
So my first question is on nutrients. I use the fox farm trio. Is that all that I need? Seems to me a lot of people are recommending cal mag. Is that just for correcting deficiencies or should it be used anyhow?
Also, what does everyone use to keep the bugs off? I’ve tried Neem oil but it really didn’t seem to do much
I have been using 3 gallon fabric pots. That seems to be the recommendation for autos correct?
For soil I have been using a mix of coco, perilite and earthworm castings
I have done ok so far but my yields and bud size haven’t been as good as expected
Thanks in advance for any help
You don’t usually need cal mag in soil, but coco is not soil and runs a different PH. You’ll definitely need cal mag with coco.I don’t mix coco and soil for that reason. You may want to consider switching to a good soil with amendments for outside . Coco is more suitable for inside as it has to be watered multiple feeds per day when they are eating good. Fox Farms trio will get through a soil grow, just don’t over feed them as FF has a reputation for building up salts. Good luck! Captain Jacks Deadbug is my go to for pests.
Growdoc thanks for the help. If I could ask one more - is there a good fungicide for outdoors that I should be using? I did get mold on one of my plants the last grow

These are all plant based and are fungicides as well as pesticide and can be used all the way to harvest but I stop a few weeks before harvest mainly to save money.
